I want to move on from this but can I? Will it be wiped away?

I'm going to ask at the local church if they'll baptise me but will I be accepted by the Lord after I've said what I said?

Have you accepted Jesus as your savior?

I said the salvation prayer a couple of weeks back maybe more can't remember the exact date and I do accept Jesus as my saviour/savior.

I've read in the Bible about baptism and I might have misunderstood but is baptism part of accepting Jesus?

I worry my own words will condemn me.

First is salvation. To give yourself to Him is the most important decision you will ever make. This can not be done light heatedly, but whole heatedly. Baptism is an act of obedience where the resemblance of the death (dunking under water) and the resurrection (being lifted out of the water) is an admittance to the whole world that you have died to yourself and are a new creature in Him. It has nothing to do with salvation. You are saved when your heart is given to Him.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (New King James Version)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

alan, the salvation prayer doesn't make someone a christian (or non-christian). it's a man-made tool, a guide, in helping people know what to say, but a person can say it in their own words....

Romans 10:9-11 (New International Version)

9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

all that is needed to KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are a child of God is summed up in those three verses... and that describes you! you have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. because of that, you are justified and you are saved... that means that you will not go to hell!

you also have this promise (and many, many more!)

Psalm 103:11-13 (New International Version)

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,

so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;

you have a repentant heart for having broken your promise to God, and for telling Him to send you to hell. the above answers the question you asked... "will it be wiped away?" YES! when you ask forgiveness, God throws it as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more! that means five minutes from now, you can say "Hey God, remember what i asked you to forgive?" and He'll say "nope, i don't remember it." you are forgiven!

but.... it's not a good idea to make promises to God, ever... because we're human and we are not capable of keeping all our promises. so learn from it, grow from it, and in the future, instead of making promises to do or not do something ever again, ask instead for God to help you to do (or not do) whatever it is.

I promised God I wouldn't do something and said send me to Hell if I do.

Will He send me to Hell?

I deeply regret what I've done and would the Bible saying there is only one unforgivable sin mean that what I've done here can be forgiven?

I hadn't truly accepted Christ when I made that promise and I shouldn't have made that promise will God send me to Hell or can I be forgiven?

Stop making promises. You can't possibly keep them. I am sure God will forgive you, all you have to do is ask Him. I used to be a gangster and He forgave me. I don't think you can get any worse than that.

He will forgive you; pray and ask for His forgiveness and don't do it again. Much as Jesus told the adultress, remember? "Go and sin no more." You don't give our awesome God enough credit if you believe He is too small to forgive you.

That wonderful, orepeacha. God is truly capable of forgiving anything and He truly wants to do that for us. If He didn't, He would not have sent a Messiah to save us. And we ALL need Jesus.

No, we don't have the authority to send ourselves to hell. Ask for forgiveness, and move on. Ours is a loving God, not a taskmaster.

Is this definite?

I reasoned with myself that the fact that I now am accepting Jesus can wipe away that sin but I keep worrying that I might be held to that word.

God's Reasoning

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 1:18

Trumps Our Understanding

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

With His Amazing Grace

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For Because We Trust

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:11-13

We Are Forgiven

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalms 103:12

And Cleaned

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:3-4

Believe

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalms 119:11

Him

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 11:25

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
