i saw a program on 4 corners tonight its an australian show on abc as i watched the program that was aired tonight i found it very disturbing i found my self praying over these little children that are branded by the priests and prophetes as witches the prophetes has a book out that guides parents this is what realy disturbed me she states when a child at the age of two years old crys in the midle of the night she is being possesed by the devil and is being called to the covenant to serve satan as a witch

the religous leaders offer help to the famlies whoes children are named as witches but at a price the churches run exorcisim or deliverance evenings where the pastors attempt to drive out the evil spirits only they have the power to cleanse the child of evil spirits they say the exorcism costs the familys up to a years income

during the deliverance ceremonies the children are shaken violently dragged around the room and have potions poured onto their eyes the children look terified the parents look on praying that the child wil be cleansed if the ritual fails they know their children will have to be sent away or killed many are held in churches often on chains and deprived off food until they confess to being a witch

the ceremonies are highly lucrative for the spiritual leaders many whom enjoy a life style of large homes expensive cars and designer clothes

helen ukpabio a self styled prophetes of the evangelical movement that has spread and been easly accepted in nigeria has a 150 branches in nigeria called the liberty gospel church they made a film which has been widely distributed around nigeria were many are falling for this prophetes lies to were the kids are either dumped on the streets of nigeria or killed by a family members the film is called end of the wicked

it disturbs me how this false prophetes and her pastors have been alowed to do so much damage in nigeria

i have had deliverance and this has not happend to me like being chained up and starved and forced to say i am a devil worshiper or have i seen this in the mens house we us to run were i witnessed god deliver a brother who went on a four day drinking binge god set him free and there was no smell of alcahol on our brother

thes priests charge L170 to treat a child where millions of people are forced to live on less then L1 a day the children are held captive until the parents have payed the bill and the police have done nothing to charge this group but go on the look out for mothers who dump their children becaus they have been told they are witches by this prophetes

if what i say ticks you off dont shot the messenger but come before god and ask god to deal with what ever is ticking you off

i am just leaving this topic hear so we can discuss as brothers and sisters in the lord how to deal with thes cults that come into our countrys do we alow thes cults to take advantage of the poor or do we do the right thing and stand up to thes false prophet and false teachers and false pastors ?

yes i saw this too and i taped it his girl i feel for the african albino children and i know the lord is doing good work also in africa but this lot are giving the decent christians a bad name his girl this litl girl this group rescued was about to be killed by a man who was threatening the team leader he had a machate which was sharpened and you could se the fear in the little girl wanting to be with her mother and younger sister they were saying witch witch she is a witch and she deserves to die the child is only four years old and she was shaking clinging on to the team leader trying to resolve this by saying prov she is a witch they could not do this

I read a story recently about the "raped virgins" of Africa. It seems in some places there that there exists a belief that by having sex with a pure virgin will take away HIV from men suffering with HIV. So they have had instances in baby girls as young as a month old being raped by men with HIV. There is a woman now who is taking in many of these girls and children for protection. Africa is still steeped in superstition, witchcraft, voo-doo and things of Satan. I pray for all these poor children - it breaks my heart.

thanks right now i am working back in australia and send money to my fiance their is an oppertunity for a church to be planted in sabang and i am talking with some rich christian farmers i know who are willing to come behind me and the church i am with is willing to let me plant a sister church in sabang we are going to purchase a block of land and build our home and the church on the same block

yes you are right by what you had said thats why i set this topic up so we can share openly and discuss how to deal with this ormoc is a big city all the provinances in the philippines are big and there are poor people who fall for thes cults

were my fiance lives we only have four catholic churches in sabang and my fiances grandmother has a smal chapel built on the property that they use a priest comes to the farm

i hav not met him and but he has been told about me

the islands were thes witches are its a very occultic community and vodo is practised they do sacrifice humens and nothing is reported to the police its mainly the poor or the home less and street kids that are targeted believer

i only stay when i can afford to take the time off

the people are hungry but are being manipulated by the cults that have set them selves up and i need to speak their language so they can under stand me

ummm I live in Africa (have all my life actually), and I do outreach work from South Africa into places like Mozambique . I know the people, and I know the church. I deal with witchcraft every day in one way or the other, sometimes just in peoples attitudes and superstitions (don't get me started), and sometimes on a more serious note.

Please listen! The church in Africa is stronger than you all might think. There are millions of God faring saved christians who have nothing but God to rely on (Is that not a wonderful place to be?), some who walk to church for 4 hours, attend a 4-5 hour service and walk back! (don't think I could sit still for that long, even with the worship). Their simple, childlike, but unshakable faith astounds and shames me every time I meet with them.

What this post is directed at IS DEFINITLY NOT THE CHURCH! What I mean is that the satan driven, mamon worshiping, murdering thieves that start up a "thing" and call it a "church" are going to burn in eternal hell unless they see the light and repent big time!

I have testimonies that my brother and I can give of the church (especially the one we support and teach at in Mozambique as this is first hand knowledge), standing against these black magic, tribal ancestor worshiping, animal sacrificing, satan driven "bush doctors", isisangoma, ("doctors" who "heal" or grant favours through magic by calling on tribal ancestors) and the like. And yes, the myth that sex with a virgin cures Aids is true, so is the myth that a certain witch doctor in Durban, South Africa, has convinced poor lost souls that a piece of red cotton with magical powers, tied around the wrist of an Aids sufferer will cure them (the cotton costs about $50). She drives a huge black Mercedes Benz.

When my brother or I teach in the church at Zavora we have had people barking like dogs, uncontrolled laughter (not of the happy sort), screaming fits, etc. The Lord is at work in Africa, and there is a revival happening in many places, but:-

I condemn with all my heart the people such as witches and "prophets" that the post mentions, and beleive that this sort of thing should be dragged out of the darkness into the light, so that all can see, and be destroyed in the name of Jesus.

Please do not judge the millions of wonderful, saved, christian people of Africa, the one's that I know and love, alongside the evil and the lost. I would hate to see this post go in that direction. Pray instead for the Lord's intervention, pray for those who go into the nations, pray for the pastors in the remote villages that fight against this evil 24/7, who live in grass huts, and farm a patch of bare earth so they can feed themselves and their families while they fight.

Pray for my brother and me, who are building a house in Mozambique (site has been leveled, poles purchased, government red tape completed - Google Earth - Zavora Mozambique), in amongst these people that we love so much. Pray for God's devine hand on our finances and our safety. Pray that we are doing this not out of our will but His. Because it is our prayer that He allows us to live in the centre of this community, Christians and witches alike. These wonderful people gave us 4 acres of land and 2 goats so that we would one day live amongst them. We love them.
