Psalms 2:4

He who sitteth in the heavens (that is Jesus...and us~Eph.2:2,5,6) shall laugh; the Lord shall have them in derision.

Psalms 37:13

The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming (talking about the wicked~see whole chapter for context).

Psalms 52:6

The righteous (Jesus, head and body~we are the body) shall also see, and fear, and shall laugh at him.

Psalms 59:8

But Thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; Thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

Ecc.3:4

"...a time to mourn and a time to laugh...."

Luke 6:21

Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep: for now ye shall laugh.

If the LORD, who is holy, sits in the heavens and laughs, then that would be holy laughter, right? And if we are joined to the Lord and He laughs, would we not laugh with Him?

That's quite a stretch, isn't it? Yes we know that God laughs and that we are to laugh... which somehow translates to mean that when we're in church and suddenly experiencing uncontrollable laughter it is because we are laughing when God laughs - a new phenomenon experienced in churches in the last 100 years??? You've somehow managed to combine all of these verses into one paraphrase, yet the verses aren't even located near each other. It's like taking the verses "And Mary was with child" and "Jesus wept" and figuring that everytime a new life is conceived we are to weep.

Tongues is mentioned quite a number of times in the Bible, and God gave very specific intructions on tongues. Why do you think He gave us these specific instructions? Why? Anyone?

Why do you think there's no specific mentions of slain in the spirit or holy laughter? The Bible's a big book and gives us all the insight we need. Why no mention of these?

What about holy tears?

Sometimes when I'm at church, I'm overcome by the love of God and the tears just start flooding. (Crying is something I strongly guard against because I'm afraid to allow myself to be overcome by the saddness of my life.)

So one morning, my pastor says that if you see somebody crying in church, its because they are being convicted of sin and we shouldn't judge them, but pray for them.

I've always thought it odd that noone else ever cried at church (unless someone died). I never understood how I could be experiencing the presence of God and be so affected and not see any evidence of others being affected also.

So, is my pastor right? Is it only because of my sin that I cry? And if that's the case, am I the only one who has sin in their life?

People can think what they want about me. I long for those experiences and I wouldn't give them up for anything but to be face to face with Jesus.

I cry in the church meetings all the time. But it's usually not uncontrollable bawling, or anything like that. Sometimes tears of joy, sometimes tears of elation, and other times tears of sorrow.

Tears can also be for healing.

I remember after a Christian convention I started crying and couldn't stop for three days!

It wasn't about sin. It was about the beginnings of the Lord delivering me from teh Major Depressive Episode I had been suffering for a few years (I know, pretty long for an "espisode" but that's what it's labled).

Heya sis Cheer,

In a nutshell no, at least not always. It can also be the Holy Spirit moving on you and letting you know how grieved He is with the world as a whole. It is quite possible that at those moments of weeping that you are sort of like an empath. God is sharing His grief with you, to give you a closer perspective of how sad He is over mankind. I also think that when you feel extreme joy, He is also sharing His joy with you.

It's one possible reason, in my experience. But the only reason? I think not.

I don't know why but I just get overwhelmed. Singing a song like "Jesus Jesus, how I trust Him, how I've proven Him over and over" can make me cry because the truth of it just overwhelms me! What has God done in my life! What has he taken me from? A doubtful, immature, insincere sinner. Why did He chose to make himself real to me? Me??? Who the heck am I, that the sovereign God, ruler of heaven and earth, should chose to make himself real to little ol' me? The emotion is so strong it just has to come out in some way or another. I'm grateful. So very grateful. And the tears flow.

I guess I'm overcome with emotion at times when I worship and think of Christ, being tormented, ridiculed, whipped, nailed to the cross while asking God to forgive his killers, etc, etc, etc. don't know if it's empathy because I don't think I could ever empathize with that as I've never gone through anything even close to that. I know that I do imagine Christ on the cross and am overcome. Especially the song - Amazing Love, how can it be. That my king would die for me. Amazing love, I know it's true. And it's my joy to honor you.

All I know is, it's deep.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
