Was Israel made solely of Jacob's decendants when they came out of Egypt, or was it made up of everyone who came out with them?

there was a mixed multitude who joined them back then and they were included in Israel; "adopted" if you will.

But does the Word express that, or are they just called Israel along with the decendants?

Exd 12:36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them [such things as they required]. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

Exd 12:37

Israel as mentioned in the Old Testament is the literal nation of Israel today at the eastern end of the Great Sea, the Mediterranean Sea. They constitute the literal offspring of Abraham which lineage gave birth to the Son of God Himself, Jesus of Bethlehem & Heaven. There were twelve literal tribes identified as God's earthly people to whom the Ten Commandments of Exodus 20 were specifically given. In the New Testament, Romans 9 is Israel Past; Romans 10 is Israel PRESENT; and Romans 11 is Israel FUTURE. All praise to her Messiah-Savior, Jesus the Righteous One!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Now another question. Why is there not a seperation here?

Like Rahab and Ruth and they joined into the Covenant.

A mix multitude made up Israel so what does that actually mean concerning us today?

I don't see it meaning anything.

When the Gospel spread to the Gentiles, many Jews demanded that the Gentile believers be converted...to follow the Law of Moses. The Apostles decreed this was not necessary for salvation. The Gentiles were to remain Gentiles. Jews were to remain Jews (they never decreed Jews cease from following Torah).

As Paul mentioned, there are natural olive branches and there are wild ones. Israel are the natural branches, Gentiles are the wild. Yes we are one in Messiah, but the natural are still natural and the wild are still wild.

Shiloh, the Targum of Jonathan says

And the sons of Israel moved forth from Pilusin towards Succoth, a hundred and thirty thousand, protected there by seven clouds of glory on their four sides: one above them, that neither hail nor rain might fall upon them, nor that they should be burned by the heat of the sun; one beneath them, that they might not be hurt by thorns, serpents, or scorpions; and one went before them, to make the valleys even, and the mountains low, and to prepare them a place of habitation. And they were about six hundred thousand men, journeying on foot, none riding on horses except the children five to every man; and a multitude of strangers, [JERUSALEM. A mixed multitude,] two hundred and forty myriads, went up with them, and sheep, and oxen, and cattle, very many.

How many is two hundred and forty myriads?:emot-highfive:

I have always understood that by the time the forty years were done that mixed multitude was all Israel, they had all been divided into the tribes. One of the spies sent forth, his father was part of the mixed multitude and he was counted as an Israelite.

the Torah gave everyone equal rights and protection, yet those who didn't choose to become part of Israel (which is what the people were called long before they had the land) then they were called "sojourners among you" but as someone previously mentioned they could also be joined to Israel if they wanted.

Caleb was THE prince to represent Judah among the 12 chosen to go up and spy the land. He was the son of a Kennizite which was one of the peoples God wanted driven out of Canaan.

He and Joshua were the only ones from the people who left Eygypt to see the Promised Land because he and Joshua gave the good report. For this, Caleb was given the choicest land in Israel, Hebron, land of the Patriarchs.

What did this gentile convert do with land? He gave it to the Levites.

This is the best picture of how we, goyim/gentiles, should respond to our place among His chosen people. We are servants of the Lord most High. We should support His plan of redemption and that means we also have His burden for the sons of Jacob.

Servants don't seek "position" or "rights".

They simply serve the Master. What He says, goes. That is all that matters.

The Father has been calling Israel to Himself since long before they left Eygypt. For most of their history "rebellion" describes their condition yet He still has an outstreched hand.

If we really love our Master, we will have this same burden...to please Him.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
