If the Quran goes down, the Bible goes with it. Unfortunately, that's a world that we probably won't ever get to. Violence endures, not faith.

The Qu'ran is a crude knock-off of the Bible and, as such, will be destroyed along with those that base their beliefs on that book. You're obviously not familiar with either book so why comment? The final violence will end violence. Again, educate yourself, Matrix.

Kindly steer discussion away from (man's) religions to the world's One True Savior, Jesus Christ, the God Who came to where we are in order to save us. lift us up, and set us on the Rock Christ Jesus. Religion is men attempting to rise up yo and please God; Salvation involves the Savior-God coming way, way down to us to transform our lives by faith in Him. "Not by works of righteous which we have done, but according to His mercy has He saved us." Emphasize the Man, Christ Jesus!

First off never admit that other faiths are equally valid. While I will always support someone's right to believe anything they wish, I would never admit that the beliefs are equally valid or true.

Also, remeber that we can never argue anyone into believing in Christ. While we can present the gospel and many convincing proofs from history and archeology in the end it is their choice to believe or reject Jesus. Don't let them make you mad, remember we are the ones who are right, Jesus is the Son of God, he is the way the truth and the life and He is the only way to heaven. If they refuse to believe you then you can try to find out why and ask them to compare evidences but never let the debate become an argument. and always remeber to pray for everyone who does not accept Christ as savior.

Of course I didn't believe when I asked, that's why I asked. You know what I did when I heard nothing? Went out and bought a book on evolution and now I feel better.

That's because your sins have separated you from God. Repent while there is yet time.

When you are sincere, He will hear you...but He owes the foolish mocker nothing but the judgement they ask for.

Know this: He has not rejected you but you have rejected Him. When you find yourself in the lake of fire, you will have nothing to blame but your pride and arrogance.

Ha, ignorance is bliss. And you call them mutants now? No wonder this world is going to hell, people like you welcome and encourage it.

Brother Matrix,

I believe that tribalism is the greatest limiting factor of the human condition. I believe that avoiding labels and above all, not labeling others is important. Perhaps neither the tribe of "science" or "faith" are ultimately served by tribalism. You clearly see the tribalism expressed so strongly by many my fellow believers. You cannot break them of it, tribalism persists, it resists breakage. I know you want very much to be the more reasonable person. Together we can start by serving love, kindness and goodness, each in our own way. I believe, that you believe that logic and reason will result in greater love, goodness and kindness. Can you believe that I believe that through Christ there will be more love, goodness and kindness. Let the "winners" and the "losers" be decided by love, kindness and goodness. I pray that in the end we all win.

I had a most ugly argument with a muslim. It got ugly. I just was never faced with a muslim telling me that Jesus is not the son of God and I got mad. I mean I have handled atheists better but this was ugly. Anyway, my question is, what did Jesus say we were supposed to do with people of differering faiths? How was I supposed to have handled that?

How were you supposed to handle that? The same way our Saviour would have handled it. If this Mohammedan had told the King of Kings that he was not the son of God to his face I would imagine that he would have smiled, told them that he is sorry he feels that way and that he loves him as a brother none the less.

No, he would have rebuked the false religion -

The way He refused to help the Canaanite woman until she made a confession of faith in Him.

If this Mohammedan had told the King of Kings that he was not the son of God to his face I would imagine that he would have smiled,

And why not?

He knows that Mohammed and all his followers are going to bow the knee and confess with their tongues that Yeshua is Lord of all to the Glory of God the Father.....or burn in the Lake of Fire with their "king"

told them that he is sorry he feels that way and that he loves him as a brother none the less.

Here is where humanism has gained control of you through vain philosophy. That scenario presumes that Yeshua doesn't care enough for the man's soul to tell him the truth.

"did god surely say....?" is the first lie and STILL a lie from the serpent.

Now...Yeshua would have used grace, mercy, and righteous judgement to expose the motives of their heart...but that doesn't mean He would candy coat sin as you have just suggested in your opinion.

We must die on a Cross ourselves before we can be re-made in His image. That is not a party and Jesus is not promoting self-esteem.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a christian. My opinions are my own. You do not have to accept them if you dislike them.

Dear MorningGlory,

You said:

..wouldn't you think these atheists would be out enjoying their God-free lives instead of constantly trying to convince Christians that their way is THE way? I've never met an atheist yet, in the real world or on the internet, who wasn't consumed with convincing believers there is no God. Or one who wasn't angry, hateful and close-minded. Why do you suppose that is? :th_praying:

I would like to introduce myself to you.

I am UndecidedFrog, and I am an atheist. I do exist in the real world, as well as on the internet as you can see. I am not consumed with convincing anyone there is no god/s. I am not angry, hateful, nor close-minded.

I hope I have been able to help you dismiss your sterotype of atheists.

Regards,

UF

Okay, U.F., I'll grant you that I painted every atheist on earth with the same brush. That was wrong to do that because, obviously, I don't KNOW every atheist on earth. After giving the matter some thought I'll change that to ' a lot of atheists are angry, hateful and close-minded' and a great many of them are out to prove the nonexistence of God. People should be judged as individuals though, something I have always stood up for. I'm glad to know you're not like the atheists I've known in the real world or on the internet. Sorry for the unduly critical post; it's not what a Christian should be about, not at all.

Thank you for your gracious response to my comments.

I am glad I was able to help you dismiss that stereotype. If I judged every christian by the behavior of some, I would not be here writing to you. :group-hug:

You can see I have been around this board for several years. You can check out my past posts. None of them have been hateful. I am not here to convince anyone of atheism, or anything else. I recognize we are all different, and believe (and disbelieve) different things.

There are many other atheists who are not hateful or close-minded. I have personally met many of them in real life. Perhaps we travel in different circles, such that you are unlucky in bumping into the wrong kind of atheists? If so, I sincerely doubt it was their atheism that was making them behave badly.

Peace,

UF

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
