Spiritual Gifts

"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men."

An easy way to prove the gifts of The Holy Spirit are for today is. If someone has His Spirit, they can say to the people who do, do you have The Holy Spirit? If they say yes which they should. Then you can say God said He is The same, yesterday, today, and forever, which means He has always done miracles, and signs, and wonders, and He is The Same, He is has not changed, and will not change. So therefore He continues to do miracles, signs, and wonders by His Spirit. So if The Holy Spirit is in someone God may chose that person to do miracles.

You have forced me to reply on a similar thread since you shut down "Pentecostalism". I don't know how that works, but it came in awful handy. The issue wasn't "settled" in my mind. If it is considered "uncivil" to question your motives and your ability to come to grips with one dishonest moment, then I guess you will be kicking me off this web soon.

In the meantime, instead of being "uncivil" I have made it clear how knowledgeable you are. I have complimented you for not insulting people. I have shown you in a positive light to show that also you are not as dumb as your "questions" suggest. And I have called you to account for that.

In the meantime, in your "civil" manner you have called us Pentecostals "an adulterous and wicked generation."

So when you don't anwser the questions given, (but only ask "questions") don't think that just I notice. We all want to be dealt with in an honest fashion. From there we can discuss the issues. Unless of course we have the power to shut down those who ask honest questions.

Just to inform... those members who have achieved a certain number of posts get the privilege to close their own threads. The closure was not done by any moderator. Your actions have not been "uncivil" here brother as I believe you are defending the TRUTH and the FAITH. Regardless, I have enjoyed reading your posts and encourage you to continue in LOVE.

As I have stated before, I believe that many Pentecostals themselves have fueled the Cessationism movement. I have seen too many times where the Gifts of the Spirit are refered to more as spiritual achievements rather than what they really are...GIFTS for God's purpose! There is a reason why a brother like Charles Stanley, who was raised in a Pentecostal environment, refuses to acknowledge the "sign gifts" yet still leads one the of the largest Southern Baptist churches in the country. Many like him acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit but just don't acknowledge those gifts that they cannot explain or haven't personally experienced.

I appreciate you scudbuddy and encourage you to remain firm in your FAITH but in LOVE and not pride.
