Jesussaves,

The story of Lazarus and Dives is a STORY(parable)............the Bible even says it's a parable, personifying the truth of 'to whom much is given, much is required', as well as 'it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.' It also lays out the requirement of having ears to hear, saying clearly that the mans family wouldn't listen to the dead if they won't listen to Moses and the Prophets.

Be Blessed. To The King!

Sin and death entered the world through one man

The wages of sin is death.

Thus, the punishment for sin is the grave.

Nothing more.

Wrong. The Bible is very strong where its teachings about hell is concerned. Hell is a real place. You must be a Jehovah's Witness or something, based on your misbeliefs about Jesus and your misbeliefs about Hell.

I am certainly not a Jehovah's Witness, I am of no denomination.

Did you ever think to consider that maybe what some of what you hold so dear is incorrect?

At this point, I don't trust any doctrine. I know who God is, I know who Jesus is, I know that he is my saviour, sent for my redemption and he is mankinds advocate and judge.

The rest can be talked about.

So, Shiloh, what exactly is wrong?

Are you saying Sin and Death did not enter the world through one man?

Are you saying the Bible doesn't say that the wages of sin is death?

Many times throughout the Bible the word translated for 'hell' is 'sheol', which is the grave. Do you dispute that?

And Gehenna? You do know that was the burn pit where they burned trash and bodies outside of Jerusalem? Is that wrong too?

And Hades? In Greek is it not 'grave'?

So, was Jacob going to go to the grave or to hell to find Joseph?

Consider this, for centuries, Hell has been conflated into a fiery torment a la 'Paradise Lost' and 'Dante's Inferno' in order to keep the unlearned lay persons living in FEAR of eternal damnation, so that the congregation is compliant and submissive.

All I'm asking is that you consider these things.

Be Blessed. To The King!

So how much more of what Jesus says is just a story and no more? First of all the Lazarus of the parable is the same Lazarus Jesus raised from the grave. And if the parable was truly nothing more then a story with no meaning or relation to reality then why would Jesus tell a lie in the parable.

The bible tells us that when we die our bodies turn back into the dust from which it was made from. But the rich man who is roasting in hell still has a tongue and a set of eye balls and still feels pain and torment even after he is dead and in the grave. So if the parable is nothing more than a story the fact that the rich man has a tongue and eye balls is contrary to scripture and a lie.

So why would Jesus tell or give us a parable to study and research if it included a lie or was completely fictional and has nothing what so ever to do with any of the saying of our Lord and Saviour who gave us a way to live in this world and to receive eternal life in deep relationship with Him.

To say that anything Jesus had to say has no relevance to us or is nothing more then a story that doesn't count is an insult to Jesus. It was not just a story. It was an example of how the Kingdom of God works. When we die we are carried away to the bosom of Abraham or a place of peace by angels but when those like the rich man die, they go to a place of burning and they retain the ability to feel pain and torment because it is their soul that is being tormented and our souls are the spiritual example of our flesh. The bottom line here is that the parable tells us what happened to the rich man and to Lazarus and it is told to use so that we will know what Jesus is telling us.

We are to study to be proved but if it is nothing more the just a story then what is the point of studying and researching the parable?

next when the time is right and Jesus calls us we will be raised from the grave just as Lazarus was. MY PEOPLE COME FORTH!

How about the parable of the talents? To much is given, much is required. How about 'Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth'.

This is the same story again. The meek(Lazarus) received the reward while the rich, prideful, glutton(Dives) missed the opportunity.

Jesus wasn't lying in this story, the story is true to the gospel.

Does any body knows where hell is ?

Just start in the state SEPARATED FROM GOD, take the exit to NEVER RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR, this should lead you to a sign with DEAD-END (arrows pointing left or right) turn either way, it will still bring you into the town of EVERLASTING..you will know you are at the right place, cause all the streets start with EVERLASTING...FIRE, PUNISHMENT, OUTER DARKNESS, DESTRUCTION, etc...jotful :emot-questioned:

That's one place I NEVER want to go......wow! Jotful, your description above is enough to scare anyone into seeking the Lord! :whistling:

Our minds cannot fully understand hell. From scripture it is a real physical place with real pain that never ends, weeping and grinding of teeth never sound very good, but anyway the other point is that those in hell chose hell. They would not like heaven in their state. What I mean is their soul is so twisted that they would never like or understand what true goodness, holiness and love even is.

It is like people we meet now, that cannot form relationships or love anyone who bask in and enjoy sin, they simply don't get it. So if you told one of these people we are sending you to a place that is about one thing, loving other people deeply and doing one thing, worship God in everlasting praise and holiness, they would say why would I want to do that! They would choose misery in that is all that they know. It is very very sad, but we can see little parts of hell now.

Jeramiah Joel wrote;

"There is also another fire, that was said would not be quenched also. It was the fire that destroyed Jerusalem: Jer 17:27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

We can also find the same statement in Ez 20:47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

We know that those fires that did burn did go out, though it was said that the fire will not be quenched. The fire did the destruction that it was intended for and went out. The fire was not to be quenched until the destruction that it was to do was fulfilled.

Hell fire is also that type of place.. a place for the destruction of both the body and soul in hell. The saints of God are given eternal life... not the wicked... they are destroyed. Mt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

How could the wicked be ashes under the souls of our feet if they burn forever?..... that would be impossible.

We can find hell fire mentioned in Mal 4:1-3, and the wicked being ashes under the souls of our feet. Mal 4:1-3 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up (destroyed body and soul), saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts."

Jer 17:27. Here are the reasons for cursing Israel instead of blessing them. If they would obey, then they would be blessed (v 24-26), but if they would not obey, then judgment would come (v 27).

Ezekiel 20:47. This prophecy of the south field being devoured by fire symbolises the complete destruction of Judah and Jerusalem. The whole land was to be destroyed like a fire devouring the whole of the forrest, leaving nothing but roots stumps andlogs lying around. Judah would be destroyed, Jerusalem and other cities would be burned to the ground, dead bodies would be strewen all over the open fields, and all flesh would see and know that it was super natural power which caused Nebuchadnezzer to destroy such a strong country formally protected of God (V 45-49; 7:15; Jer. 9:22; 26:18).

Matthewt 10:28; Second command here not to fear men, who cannot hurt the soul when they kill the body (Luke 12:4-12). The Hell mentioned in this Scripture is GR. gehenna, eternal hell where the bodies and souls of all wicked will be marred and tormented forever (Luke 12:5).

Malachi 4:1-3. The fire that will burn up the proud and the wicked like stubble, leaving nothing of their bodies, will be the fire and brimstone spoken of in Ezek. 38:17-23, and the flaming fire that will go out before Christ and His angels and saints (2 Th. 1:7-10). This does not refer to hell fire, as some teach, but to the battle of Armageddon on the day of Christs second advent. It has no more reference to hell than the fire which destroyed Sodom and Gemorrah (Gen. 19:24), or that which consumed many in Israel (Numbers 11:1). The wicked will not be cast into hell, all on a certain day, as they will be burned at this time; they go to hell one by one, and not bodily at all, untill the second resurrection. Then they will be cast into the lake of fire, not to be burned up, but to be tormented day and night forever in their indestructible body (Isa. 66:22-24; Mat. 25:41, 46; Mark 9:41-49; Rev. 14:9-11; 20:11-15). The burning up of this passage is simply that of the physical body to cause death. The soul and spirit only of such persons will go to hell to be in a conscious state of torment and judgment (Luke 16:19-12).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
