Up to recent times, women were held in high esteem, to be protected by man. Unfortunately, women had decided that they wanted to be equal in every way, placing them outside of Gods plan and into a prideful stance, forcing themselves into places where they should not be. This does not mean a woman can not shoot as wall as a man, fly as well as a man, or do many things as well as a man, but it does mean that they have decided to step out, in pride, from under Gods protection. This, to their shame, has brought many other trials and tribulation upon themselves.

Let women be women and men be men.

I think that's a terrible stereotype. Without the women "stepping out from under God's protection", they wouldn't be able to vote, to work alongside men, to say "no" to rape, to walk beside their man and not behind him, to drive, to refuse a man's advances, etc. Women are as capable on their own as men and if they want to serve their country they should be allowed to. Women's lives are not worth more than men's so they should be allowed to risk it.

Too bad if you feel offended, it is how God set it up to be. Don't matter what anyone thinks, man has been set up to protect his family in every way.

Your opinion. I think its outdated. The times change and you can either accept it or infuriate those who do. If a woman wants to be on the front lines let her, its her choice. Just because you think man has been set up to protect his family doesn't mean that all men do. Sometimes, women are better at it.

If Gods plan infuriates you, then I suggest you take that up with Him. As for my opinion, I side with the Lord no matter who it offends or infuriates.

 Thread hijack! :)

Not really I'm merely questioning the implicit assumption that it is acceptable for men to fight on the front line.

You yourself, I think, have raised elsewhere in discussion the Romanisation of Christianity in the post-constantinian period. Part of that is the "Martial" tradition, the syncrenistic adoption into state "Christianity" of cult of war. look at most military memorials in the world they make no secret of their adoption of Roman religous symbols and traditions

This really is an issue about women on the front line. If you want to debate the merits of war all together, perhaps a new thread is in order? I started a thread a little while back about God's character and war that you might be interested, I'll come back with a link .

They are in Israel.

As much as I love the nation of Israel, they don't do everything right ...

For not doing anything right, no ones been able to touch them for 60 years.

I wonder why that is?

There is a big difference between "not doing everything right" and "doing nothing right".

God's still protecting them. It has nothing to do with their women in the service.

Is being a Christian compatible with any involvement with the military?

What makes you think that it's not?

Didn't we just have this argument? Pages and pages worth?

Just because you think man has been set up to protect his family doesn't mean that all men do. Sometimes, women are better at it.

And your opinion is built on the media and what the feminist movement teaches you. Let them get infuriated. If they can't back up their points, then they lose.

And no, don't let a women be in the front lines just because she wants to. As I said, it makes the men in her unit behave differently. Studies affirm it.

You can pass off sexism as archaic all you want, but that doesn't make it wrong. I agree that militant sexism is wrong, but there are differences in the genders and to say there isn't is no different than saying we don't need food. It's part of our natural makeover. That's not to say that women should be beaten/raped or that they shouldn't be able to go out and achieve happiness. That's just to say that there are strengths, weaknesses and gender roles.

Trust me. I understand where you're coming from; I've been there. But it took several epiphanies for me to understand that you can't base everything you know off of what you're taught in school.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
