Absolutely ridiculous. First we get to hear about how scientists are so dogmatically committed to their anti-god worldviews they ignore evidence then we get to hear about how scientists are changing some of their ideas about hominid evolution based on new evidence. Meanwhile no one addresses the crushing reality of this fossil's undeniable existence displaying features consistent with evolutionary theory found in strata where we NEVER find anything close to modern humans.

Science changes, that is what it is supposed to do. When new evidence arises old theories have to be amended to incorporate it (that's kind of the whole point of a theory - to explain evidence) or even tossed out completely. This is a strength of the scientific process not a weakness, after all you would hardly apply this same condemnation on any other area of study would you? Or are you saying that incorporating new evidence into theories has led to a less accurate periodic table?

IL, sometimes it's really hard to know just exactly what team you are on. There are many Christians out there with doctrine that I disagree with. In fact, I disagree with about 90% of the people on this site about their creation views. But I don't go to war against them. It just seems like you are here and want to fight against any christian who opposes evolution. We are still your brothers and sisters in Christ, right?

#2 - Well then, perhaps you should get a job with the magazine and write the articles for them, because what I shared was the impression I got from reading the article - uncertainty, wanting to make the fossil fit but not being able to state so with confidence. I had no sense of the advancement of science from what I read.

No, until you understand what the researchers involved are actually claiming.

But you don't fully understand what all the reaserchers are saying, no matter how many times you try to cover it up, paint over it or ignore it there are more than just a few highly educated scientists who do not believe evolution and these are not

some crack pot idiots you and other evolutionists try to make them our to be.

Evolution is a theory, it's a way to explain things. As such it is not "fact" as we're used to thinking about it but is always subject to change. This article provides a modest example of this; as new evidence is uncovered scientists adjust their theories to account for it so that the more evidence we aquire the stronger theories should become. I certainly don't think scripture is "flawed" as I've explained before.

If you don't think scripture is flawed, why do you put more trust in what some scientists think than what God says?

Whether or not you want to educate yourself about the actual details of this finding is your choice. That being said, I don't claim to be a Christian, I am a Christian. Glad I could clear that up.

Medical science does not reject and seek to refute the scriptual account of creation.

And i admit fully that there are many more scientists today who accept evolution than creation.

But, since God's word tells us that creation is true I choose to side with the creationists, many of whom present very well made cases that the many, many more evolutionists can't refute except by riddiculing them.

I don't understand why a fossil that can't be classified is such a big story but, oh well.....maybe it's a slow news cycle.
