Answer the question. Why do you not preach against people who work on the Sabbath but preach against homosexuals? Where's your right to pick and choose what to follow in the Bible?

Simple. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. As long as you set aside one day for the Lord, it does not matter which one it is, but that is in scripture, something you know nothing about. However, homosexuality is spoken against in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Allow me to give you a glance of your future ...

Revelation 21:1-8

All Things Made New

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying,

The followers of Christ have God and atheists definitely do not. That why there's a 'a' before 'theist'...it means absence of, or without.

Well sure, we "have" faith in God and "have" salvation through Him but it's not as though we've got him in our corner against the atheists or something like that. God is technically in everyone's corner, in that He loves everyone and wants them to have a relationship with Him.

Lurker

Yes, you're correct. But those who deny Him will not have Him when it counts the most. He would have none perish but, eventually, judgment comes. I know God is not against atheists; He wants them for His Kingdom. Some will never come to Him though and that's just incredibly sad.

Too bad more people aren't homosexuals.

Are you homosexual?

No, but I have plenty of homosexual friends (they're fantastic people by the way). And to the other question, there is no hell. I'm not scared of things that don't exist. And I think its deplorable to preach hell to kids to scare them into believing in god.

It's a parent's job to secure their child's salvation by teaching and example....it doesn't always work but what greater love than looking out for your child's soul?

Depends on what you do to your kid. Children are extremely gullible unfortunately. I remember being at Ranch Camp when I was younger and part of this camp was teaching "God's love." The problem is, the Bible passages the counselors chose to read to us at night were all about the devil. They made two young girls cry because of how scared they were of the devil. I had never seen such glee in someone's eyes. That's when I lost all ability to believe in god. That wasn't right.

So, because of a couple of clueless idiots who get their gollies out of scaring kids, you stopped believing in God?

Parents, Christopher....parents. The counselor must have been an idiot. Why would you lose your ability to believe in God because some human acted badly?

Why is this atheist heretic still here? I am asking any and all moderators to do something and now, please. This is not the stated purpose of Worthy Boards.

By definition, an atheist is a heretic. But I hate to see them shut out because who needs to hear the Word more?

You are right to a point.

All are allowed here, but none are supposed to try to undermine the Word of God and our Faith therein. That is specifically prohibited.

I know. I'm glad I'm not a mod for that reason.

Yup. Because its a fail-safe method to make sure your kid believes. "God loves you and you should follow his rules so you can go to heaven....and if you don't you'll go to a fiery lake in hell and burn forever."

Then your faith in God was only in your head and not in your heart. You thought God was real, which is not the same as having faith in Him. You throw away all hope because of a couple of people who gets their kicks out of scaring kids. Pretty sad reason to gamble your eternity with.

If you are right, then Christians are the most sorrowful bunch of people the world will ever know ... BUT .. if we are right, you loose for eternity. That is a very long time to regret a decision you made because of a couple of people playing on the fears of another. I would recheck your childhood decisions.

I agree; the consequences of the wrong decision are too awful to contemplate.

Yessiree Bob, either I or ChristopherCarlin are most certainly wrong. I'd rather be me and be wrong than him. Whew, even the thought of that eternal Lake of Fire promised to unrepentant transgressors makes me nervous in the service as we used to say. It still applies now because I am in the service of the Lord my God.

I can't believe. I just can't. And forcing myself to "believe" won't be a true conversion anyways. The way I see it, because I can't believe and because any conversion would be seen as fake by an all powerful all knowing god, I'm going below regardless.

That being said, I don't worry about it because I know its not true.

I will continue to pray for you, Christopher. Believe it, or not, believers would rather see you in the Kingdom with us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
