I think that we "think" we all know what were talking about. In the end I am sure that the answers to all of are questions can be wrapped up in simple answers. I believe in the therory of everything, God is everything. I accept the bible, call me foolish I dont care. I love science, but sadly most secular sceintist are just educated fools.

It's not for us to know. These are the words of Jesus......

Mathew 24:36

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Whatever your beliefs (Christian or otherwise), nobody knows when, and nobody should be holding their breath (unless you're CERTAIN that it's in the next couple of minutes!).

come on now. a basic tenet of Christianity is that we are always looking for the Lord's return. that's the most exciting part !!

i would venture to go as far as to say that one wouldn't even be christian if they weren't looking for the return to the unity with God.

And your venture would be an epic failure, "looking for the return" is not a tenant of salvation.

Yes it is a tenant of salvation. Jesus' return the very hope of every believer. It is the end to which we were saved. That is where all of salvation history is headed. If you were saved, you would know that.

Just asking, but why would you care about the coming of the lord.(excepts backlash) If you die and are going to heaven does it matter if that heaven is now, five years, 50 years. If you knew you were going to heaven you wouldn't care when would you. Just wondering. Unless you want all the evil doers to begone with now.

Wrong, "looking" for the return of Christ is not a tenant of salvation. It is something we hope for, it is not a doctrinal point.
The return of Jesus is a major part of Christian doctrine and since it is fulfillment of salvation, it falls as a tenant of it.

I believe that Christ won't be coming back any time soon, though I could be wrong that doesn't make me any less of a Christian.
No one has said otherwise.

Good grief people, you know your essential doctrines like you know the ToS of this forum,
You do not demonstrate any knowledge of genuine doctrinal knowledge thus far. Frankly, all you have been doing is teaming up with atheists to tear down the Christian faith.

which, judging by the sheer number of opportunities you jump at to question others' faith, is not very impressive.
When people hold to views that challenge the teachings of Scripture, they should be challenged.

Who exactly gave you the right to keep tacking beliefs onto salvation?
No one is taking anything on to salvation.

Neither Christ or Paul mentions anything at all about believing in a literal interpretation of Genesis or about actively looking for the return of Christ as essential to salvation.
You miss the point. No one said that salvation hangs on a literal interpretation of Genesis or that such is a prerequisite for salvation. Rather it is how one approaches the Word of God that reveals what is really in their heart. Works don't save us, rather they demonstrate the inward salvation that has taken place or has not taken place.

Saying "I am Christian" but then claiming to reject what the Bible claims, presents a major disconnect. I have elucidated on that disconnect multiple times.

Because it could happen before we die. It could happen this year. The fact that we are going to heaven does not mean that we should not care about the return of Jesus.

I don't know why the evolutionists keep trying to prove an unprovable theory, one would think by now, with all the information we gave them, to de-bunk evolution, you think they would turn and repent. Con-Science, Hal, lurker, Since evolution has been debunked the only thing left is creation. it's not rocket science

:whistling:

Wow. I have to say if evolution was de-bunked we might have heard about it. Maybe a small newspaper headline, or maybe a bit on the radio. No. Oh well, they must just not announce big events like that anymore.

I see where your coming from. I do. From my view if i was going to see him when i died i wouldn't be thinking about it while i was alive. That way it would be a cool surprise if he did pop around for an ould salvation.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
