Grace to you,

If your spouse is a unbeliever let him or her go it is better for you.

This is just flat wrong and unscriptural. :emot-highfive:

Peace,

Dave

It should be a last resort for Christians for sure.

But you know life is messy, Christ made allowances for marrying adulterers for a reason, we sometimes end up marrying people we should not have married or married someone who turned into a monster, Christ does not want us to spend our life with a monster.

As a Church we need to get more involved in dating, engagement, marriage and divorce. We make women feel guilty about divorce and yet we celebrate Swaggart, Hagge and the Bakers.

1 Cor 7

15But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. 16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

Here is some Scripture.

Since it is pretty much impossible for a person to Biblically argue for divorce, I will make a short statement.

I do not think GOD ever intended a person to serve a life sentence of grief and agrivation because they made the mistake of marrying badly.

GOD gave us divorce specifically to counter a mistake. It is not to be used lightly or in order to jump to another woman.

We, who are Christians, are not required to suffer for the rest of our lives because of a mistake. This is the very opposite of what Christianity is. Freedom tempered with love and grace.

GOD gave us divorce for a reason. It is not something to be taken away by opinions of men.

That is not scriptural at all. The bible tells us to be content in our circumstances. The bible never tells us we can divorce just because we are unhappy. Feel free to correct me with scripture if you can. We dont get a "do-over" just because we make a mistake in marriage.

And this is found in scripture where????

I hate to have to say this again, but Jade has it right.
