OK i just deleted my long winded and ungraceful post.

When Quoting someone to show what you are responding to -

When the Quote is very long -

Please delete out all but maybe the first sentence or paragraph or something.

It is very tiring scrolling through the large posts time and time again as people keep hitting the reply button and not deleting anything.

I'm not sure what you mean about deleting your post...I must have missed it. Nor do I want to be a 'smart aleck'.

I agree with Nebula; the WORST thing is quoting an entire 5000 word post (for example) just to reply to one sentence in that post. The second worst is posting the 5000 word post in the first place. The last, but not least, is posting in ALL CAPS or yellow or pink fonts that no one can read. Yes, I've seen a few do this.

If an aleck is a good thing, I think you are a very smart one  And yes I am guilty of the easy quote option from time to time. Soooooryyyy :o

Well, I've done the 'easy quote' thing too. By the way, even though I'm American, I've no CLUE as to why the term 'Smart Aleck' is applied to know-it-alls....I'm pretty sure it's not a compliment though.

You know, thats an interesting bit of trivia! Does anyone know where the saying might have come from? I have searched out quite a few other sayings and their origins. Like between the devil and the deep blue sea.
