I've had people telling me that my efforts to not wear provocative clothing is legalism, so...? There's a verse in the Bible about "whatever is not of faith is sin." For things that are not spelled out clearly in the Bible (reading fiction period is not addressed in Scriptures), follow your convictions, go with what brings peace to your heart. There are alot of things today that we have no actual biblical advice/command to follow, yet we can follow the attitudes of those meant as our example. If there is anyone you know in the church that you want to become like in attitude, then adopt their advice and example about it as well. When i got saved i threw all my old ways out, and i only regret the things ive allowed others to convince me to go back to.

I learned, like I had always learned, the hard way. One simple thought keeps coming to mind, if Jesus was to be standing with me, would I be doing what I want to do? A sobering question to all. If you want to, go ahead. It is worldly entertainment. That is reason enough. If you feel some conviction about it, that is reason enough. Legalism come into play when you try to tell people they have to do it. This is a personal choice you are making. Any sacrifice you make for the LORD, HE will honor. THAT IS REASON ENOUGH. I too learn the hard way and alot of the ground i gained, i lost by going back to the mud hole. Thats why I am now very wary of who I pattern my life on. First of all Jesus and the Holy Spirit in prayer and then theologically, those with good fruits (morally perfect, and winning souls) and last but not always least, those who the Lord directs to me to speak a word in season. (I try to hear the Holy Spirit speaking through all people, if He is ?.)
