I truly cannot think of anything I am addicted to. There are people in my life that I would be devastated without - but I've lost loved ones before and I know that one day we will be reunited.... I enjoy my morning coffee - but I'm not addicted to it.... I once was ruled by cigarettes - but that just wasn't a good fit for me... so I quit. Drugs, alcohol, etc. nope. I'm very fortunate.

That's great sis. As I was pondering this thread, I realised the addictions that I have had before that He has broken in my life. I think we can list our sins, so long as we also recognise and praise Him for the mighty works that He can do and Has done.

I was set free from a bondage to porn. I love being free of that addction, and it was all Him and none of me. Praise God!

Anyone else want to praise Him for addictions they have been set free of?

I see the evil that is me reflected in the most vile of offenses. I can not say I was set free from any addictions, but I can say HE has kept me from that which I am glad I have never become.

This is one reason I can say with an absolute certainty that we are what we are by the grace (and design) of a sovereign GOD. I also know that I cannot point a finger at those trapped in sin for I know that the only reason I am not is because HE has not allowed it.

(and yes I know that this flies in the face of all those who believe in "freewill")

On the contary I do not think it contradicts free will but it does leave out the other half of the equation, that despite Gods sovereignty he no way violates or interferes with free will and raises good seed in good soil. But seed and soil can be contaminated and ruined.

I too know that it was the grace of God that allowed me to be raised in a good but non christian family in a rural enviroment with enormous freedoms, and yet to leave school early to persue a life of alcohol, drugs, fighting and hellraising, to marry wrongly and loose all that I held dear, so that I would cry out for help and be saved.

To God be the glory forever and ever amen.

I really appreciate those that shared honestly in this thread, that is why I posted it.

We ALL have something we are addicited to - God, our Kids, church, shoppong , coffee, soda pop, drugs washing our hands too much- you get the point.

We should lift up one another in prayer , so that God can work in these areas of unhealthy addictions, I for one will pray!

You put GOD in the list of unhealthy adictions. Just thought I would point that out.

Perhaps you are addicted to pointing out typos of People that CANNOT, obviously mean that GOD is an Unhealthy addiction. :24:

To be frank here, if we are all honest with ourselves, we ALL have something even if its small are addicted to something.

I do not agree with you. I do not know of anything that I am addicted to.

Let me say first of all that this flesh that all the world still lives in is addicted to SIN. It will strive to live in it and only GOD Himself can keep you from giving in. All of us. Pride is still in the BIBLE especially in PRV.16:18. People behold the mote in other's eyes all the while they have a beam sticking out of their own in Matt. 7:3-5 and then we come to 1 Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time." Just thought I would point that out. :24:

Mint chocolate chip ice cream. I'd inject it into my veins if I had to. :24:

1 Corinthians 16:15--I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.)

1 Corinthians 1:16--And I baptized also the house-hold of Stephanas besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

I am addicted to worthy boards and at the sametime I minister to the saints the best that I can right here at worthy boards while I'm here. :emot-handshake:

Believer1997 and I were talking in one of my threads about ' how to save money'and addiction was brought up, this along with this weeks Opray show on addiction, has caused me to realize -We ALL have addictions.

I was addicted to wanting to be loved, no matter that cost, having realized this has brought great healing in my life and for the lives of those around me.

My computer is really the only thing I'm addicted to. I'm on it from the minute I get home, to the minute I go to bed, pretty much. I try to console myself with the fact that about 99% of the time is spent in forums like this, but still. I need to cut back.

I'm also addicted to buying Bibles. That's a good addiction I guess. lol

I use to be addited to having to keep a super clean home in order to feel important and also to feel more in control of something in my life.

God has set me free from this and now He is what makes me feel filled and also important.
