Oh andy, can you post the wise stewards scripture for me to save some time.

Luk 12:42-48 MKJV

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall set over his houseservants, to give them their portion of food in season?

43 Blessed is that servant when his lord comes and finds him so doing.

44 Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions.

45 But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk,

46 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47 And that servant who knew his lord's will and did not prepare, nor did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48 But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For to whomever much is given, of him much shall be required. And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Luke 12:42-48 is not about money andy...It is about spiritual welfare.

You asked me to post it. What parable are you thinking of?

To me immigration is a result of the country the people are emigrating from being in a state of turmoil. Yes we should open our doors within reason to immigrants, but the crux of the matter is that we should be praying for the peace and good governance of the countries concerned.

Take Zimbabwe for instance. It is an awesome place with huge potential, once the breadbasket of Southern Africa. It is now a pile of ruins because of corruption, and one mans greed and need for power. There are millions, and I mean millions of illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe in South Africa, and what do we do? Persecute them, exploit them, and practice xenophobia against them.

What we should be doing is assisting Zimbabwe out of the mess it is in through government change, rather than platitudes. I am willing to bet that 90% of the immigrants would go back in a second if this was the case, because it is a beautiful country that holds so much promise.

So rather than looking for scripture to do with immigrants and strangers in our land, we should be looking for scripture that talks of healing the place from whence they came.

Blessings

Well.. yes and no.

Immigration is a reality, and I think a bible study on the topic, especially in such heated political times, would help. Many of us have never done a study on the topic before, and I personally want to know if my deep seated thoughts on immigration line up with the Word.

But yes, a study on how to bring healing and a restoration of order and justice to those lands would also be good. I liken it to 'teaching a man how to fish' rather than 'giving a man a fish'. Immigration is just a bandaid, fixing the homeland is the solution.

However, both are real issues at the moment and could benefit with prayer and study.

Sorry andy..I was asking about your number 5 question on being wise stewards with money.

5 - the command to be wise stewards with our money and wise investors (now I am thinking of our national leaders who have economies to manage)

Yes, our political leaders need to find a balance between open free for all immigration, and balancing the economy. They need to be wise stewards with our tax dollars while still maintaining a steady influx of immigrants.

How did those scriptures not help?

I posted because you asked me to. I thought you were going to expand on how they helped. If they don't, that's fine  .

However, I do not believe that open borders would be a wise thing to do, since it would crash our economy. We also have to be wise stewards with our tax money, and what we use it for. What good are we going to be at helping the poor if we go out with a bang, and therefore are unable to sustain a persistant humanitarian front?

I believe the bible teaches both to care for our neighbour and to care for our money (economy).

It's a difficult subject to study I am finding. I am doing searches and dredging my memory for scriptures. I am sure the answer is in there somewhere, it always is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
