You're the one that brought scripture into this. Show me where it states it is possible to know one better than the other.

Look at it like a person with multiple personalities? You may know Bob, but Bob is also Bill at times. You've never met Bill nor do you know anything about him, yet you can claim that your relationship with him is as strong as it is with Bob?

The thing is......if you know Bob, you also know Bill. If you don't know Bill, than you really don't know Bob either.

Read what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in John 12-15, I think it is.

Does it not sound like there is a distinction between Him and the Spirit?

There is a distinction between all Three, but how can you know one better than the other? How can you have a closer relationship with one and not the other?

Repeat:

It doesn't work like that.

I'll just say this man,

The Lord has been revealing Himself to me in different ways, and He is leading me in interacting with Him as Holy Spirit, as Jesus, and more recently as the Father.

You can reject this if you chose. But I have to go where He leads me.

Repeat:

If you know one, you know all three.

You can't have more trust in one than the other. It doesn't work like that.

This doesn't address the question about the Holy Spirit specifically, but in John 14:8,9, it says,

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

While the Father and the Son have distinctions, they are still God, so if you have a relationship with Jesus, you have a relationship with the Father. When Jesus went to heaven, he sent us the comforter, and it is the Holy Ghost that lives in our heart. I believe that if we know the Holy Spirit, we know Jesus and the Father.

Butero that's an interesting verse. Let's investigate!

OK lets have a look at that word 'seen'.

G3708

ὁράω

horaō

hor-ah'-o

Properly to stare at (compare G3700), that is, (by implication) to discern clearly (physically or mentally); by extension to attend to; by Hebraism to experience; passively to appear: - behold, perceive, see, take heed.

Jesus the Son and God the Father still have very separate distinct roles to us. Jesus doesn't make sense outside of the framework set up by God in the OT. To understand Jesus, who He is and what He did, we first need to understand God the Father, His standards for holiness etc. If we have experiences / correctly discerned Jesus, it's because we have first understood who God the Father is.

Jesus is quite literally the image of the invisible God.

Col 1:15 He is the visible image of the invisible God. He is supreme over all creation,

but He alone is the High Priest. God the Father is not our High Priest. We don't look to God the Father for sacrifices nor for intercession.

Knowing God the Father doesn't help us to experience the High Priest part of who Jesus is.

Make sense now?

I mentioned this in another thread.

But when you hear, "God loves you," how does that make you feel? Or what impression does it give you?

Then when you hear, "The Father loves you," how does that make you feel? Or what impression does that give you?

Look at 1 John 2:12-14 and tell me that the fathers didn't know Jesus better than the children.

I get what you are saying Andy. All three members of the trinity have separate roles. I also know that God the Father is in heaven and his Son Jesus is at his right hand, and the Holy Spirit inhabits our temple. All I am saying is that since all three are God, if I have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, I also have a relationship with the Son and the Father.

Well I am a wife, a mother, and a daughter. And some people know me more as a wife (hubby!), some more as a mother (my daughter) and some more as a daughter (my mother).

They all know me, just through different attributes. Same me, but a different relationship, a different aspect emphasised.

My mother doesn't know the mother-andy very well.

My daughter certainly doesn't know the wife-andy very well.

And my husband :wub::emot-heartbeat:

Jesus

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee,

and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. John 21:21

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;

and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

Jesus

For as the Father hath life in himself;

so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:26-29

Jesus

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:

and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:11

I have the weakest relationship with the Holy Spirit, although it's the relationship that is growing fastest. Learning to rely on the Holy Spirit and trust Him...

I have the most familiarity with Jesus and am probably closest to Him. He is the part of the trinity that I most resonate with.

My goal though, is more unity with the Father. There is so much more of His nature that I want to get to know.

Well

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 28:19

The Bible Is

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Psalms 40:7

The Big Book Of Jesus

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Hebrews 10:7

And The Sword Of The Spirit

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Ephesians 6:17

So I Am A Child Of The Holy Father

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Galatians :4-6

And A Part Of The Body Of The Son

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 1:17-23

And A New Creature By His Words And The Indwelling Of The Holy Ghost

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:4-7

So I Talk To Daddy And To My Kinsman-Redeemer Through The Holy Spirit

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:26

Praying

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Psalms 103:1

Hallelujah!

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Jeremiah 15:16

Be Blessed Beloved Daughter Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
