If Israel attacked Syria with unconventional weapons, there would not be a Syria left to retaliate, so their threat is pretty much baseless.

Several years ago, there was a lot of speculation that Iraq sent stuff to Syria just before the US came in. Last I hear, that allegation has never been refuted.
