1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. Sin is transgression of Gods laws, we all have and do at some point each day in some way. I am so grateful that He paid that penalty of sin, of death for me!

What The World Needs Now

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:9

Is Love Sweet Love

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2

It's The Only Name

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Acts 4:10

We Hear Just Too Little Of

But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:17-18

The Sin To Die For

Of sin, because they believe not on me; John 16:9

Shows Up Here

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:5

And There

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:12

And Still

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18

God Calls

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Romans 3:20

Eat Beloved

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalms 119:11

Eat

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16

Hi,

I don't have a "definition" of sin, only that which God gave me when I asked Him what it was and why He hated it.

He promptly began pointing out all of my sins and giving me to understand how it hurt and misled others, as well as myself. What sin is and why He hates it is one in the same: it hurts us.

After pointing out what my sins were, I felt grief, sorrow, and shame. I wanted to stop doing those things. I wanted to stop hurting others which hurt God, and I thought I could. Since that day, I've come to understand that I cannot repent without Jesus' help. I can want to repent, certainly, and I can commit to turning away from my sins, but I need His strength and wisdom to stay on His path and away from the desires of my own heart that lure me into sinning. God's goodness towards us leads us to repentance:

(Rom 2:4) Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

I believe that His continued goodness towards us, even after our salvation, continues to "heap burning coals upon our heads", and we continue to practice repentance and succeed because Jesus is always with us.

Wow. Did any of that make sense? Hope so! :whistling:

After reading another forum I want to say a sin is a sin and if we don't repent of the sin and accept Jesus as our savior, we are going to hell. Now some sins seem to stand out more than others because of political correctness of the time and people feel they must convince others that their sin is all well an good. As an example we as Christians know abortion is wrong, yet there are people that think they need to persuade us to thinking it is no longer a sin.

As I stated before we must repent of our sins, now I got a question that I hope others can answer. I'm older than dirt and if I were to put all my sins down on paper I would have a book thicker then the Bible. I can't possibly remember all my sins, so is it possible to ask God to collectively forgive me of my sins that I can no longer remember?

This might be a stupid question but I should get some good responses. :whistling:

I think that if you closely examine the entire New Testament, you will come to the conclusion that God does not forgive us of our sins. He forgives of of our Sin. For conversation sake, just ignore orig. sin. When we commit a sin, we have broken the entire law and committed every sin. When you were saved, you were forgiven of you sin, not merely the ones you remembered and confessed. The man who does not love his neighbor as himself is equally guilty with Adolph Hitler. God forgives us of our Sin. When Jesus cleansed us, the blood ran both ways. It ran forward and backward in out lives. Repentance of sins committed after salvation benefits us. It makes us more receptive to God and sensitive to Him. Every time we sin and ask for forgveness of that sin, Christ does not re-apply His blood to our lives. He applied it one time and one time only.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
