It isn't appropriate to laugh at the fact that someone killed himself - but it is amazing that people continually try to do the most outlandish things to get money or other things they feel they must have. I read not too long ago about a man being trapped for hours in a chimney (it wasn't Santa) as he tried to break into a home.

LOL now that's funny! reminds me of the chimney song by the bob river's band...

There's something stuck up in the chimney

And I don't know what it is,

But it's been there all night long.

Well, I waited up for Santa all Christmas night

But he never came and it don't seem right.

And there's something in the chimney

And it doesn't make a sound,

But I wish you Merry Christmas.

(google it if you want to read more... it's a hilarious song!)

so is it appropriate to laugh at the atm bomber who was blown to smithereens?

But you gotta wonder what his last thought was......

And not to be to PC, I think the whole situation was funny, nope, hilarious

I mean think about it. He stole the explosives, he made the detonator, he placed the explosives, he connected the wires, he did the double back flip with a half pike into the road......

Sorry, yep, definitely funny.......

I pray for tolerance and understanding .... a lot! I find that the older I get, the less tolerance I have for stupidity, deliberate cruelty and arrogance. Do other Christians struggle with this? This guy that did this thing with the ATM... I have a hard time finding any compassion for people who do things like this. and that makes me feel bad - I know I should be more compassionate.

For me it's the exact opposite. The older I get, the more patience I have. I can tolerate stupidity and arrogance more than I used to because I know where it comes from. Deliberate cruelty is alittle different. If I read about it or see it on TV, there's not a whole lot I can do about it. But if I witness it firsthand, I will step in and put a stop to it.

The guy that got blown up with the ATM.....I see nothing funny about that. Yes, it was an extremely stupid thing to do, but I don't see violence as something that should be laughed at.

But that's just me.

And just so everyone understands, I'm not condemning anyone here. There was a time when I would've went searching for that video.

I'm just mellowing with age.

See - that's what I thought I should be doing - understanding it more and being more tolerant as I got older.... Now - I'm just fed up with acute stupid

Actually I'm with man here. The older I get the more I understand why people do stupid stuff. We all do stupid things at times, but this guy had a moment of stupidity that resulted in his death. I don't find it funny in the slightest.

I also know that some people have an impaired ability to reason. My sister is one of them. She does stupid things, because she doesn't have the ability to reason with herself about how wise or safe it is.

We don't know what extreme events have happened in this man's life to make him attempt such a crazy thing. We think it's crazy from our perspective, but to a drug fueled man it might seem like the best possible path.

Actually.... I must have had unbelievable patience and tolerance years ago - but, when you pull into a shopping center parking lot and watch a woman leave two kids in car seats in the car while she "runs" inside (btw - 92 degrees outside) .... Stupid? uh YEAH... It's situations like that which makes me so angry... The US had an epidemic of children dying in cars due to the negligence of their parents a couple of summers ago.... That kind of stupid I just can't tolerate... We all see things every day that are just insensitive and stupid. I'm not talking about not having patience and tolerance for someone who doesn't have the ability to reason properly.

Sis I hope you didn't find my post judgmental. It wasn't intended to be at all. :emot-hug:

As for the women who do that, I still struggle to have that anger towards them. Maybe it's something wrong with me :noidea: . I just don't know for sure that these women intentionally put their children in such danger, so I find it hard to be angry.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
