Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,

This is a spin-off of the thread Anybody Notice, but I believe it's something that needed to be said so that as family we do not fall into discouragement -- a key working of the enemy.

We can easily become discouraged in doing good. Paul wrote about it,

Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

In the Old Testament, I recall the story of Nehemiah. How Nehemiah came back to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and how he had to fight through different circumstances while the wall was being built.

Nehemiah 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Notice the wall was built half-way and built speedily while the people had a mind to work! They had a goal set in mind! They had a heart to work through the process of rebuilding the wall.

Nehemiah 4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

Interestingly the people waited to make their prayer unto God! Sometimes we spend more time worrying about building our house, our walls, we forget the fact that unless the Lord builds the house everything is in vain.

The first part of the verse says ... NEVERTHELESS we made our prayer ... but we should be people of prayer and whenever there's a situation we need to send that situation right to the throne of Grace!

Nehemiah 4:10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.

Now the people had become weary -- they had become worn down and worn out -- they were focused on the rubble! You see the wall had been destroyed roughly 70 years before they started rebuilding the wall. In order to properly rebuild the wall of Jerusalem they had to clear out the rubbish -- clear away the rubble that was preventing them from building the wall. It seemed like the task was soo huge, so overwelming, and they began looking at all that was not done. Instead of looking at what was accomplished!

Nehemiah 4:17-20 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me. And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another. In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

Now when they went to finish building the wall, their enemies were at the gates wanting to stop the building of the wall -- the enemies wanted to wall to cease from being built. So all those that went about building the wall, equipped themselves with a weapon while they were building! The key was when the enemy was at the gates, they were armed and ready for a fight, but Nehemiah reminded them -- OUR GOD SHALL FIGHT FOR US!

As a person overseeing the building of the ministry, I am watching a wall being built much like Nehemiah was. I am watching how the ministry is growing speedily, and watching how the wall is being built.

You see, the people working on the wall in Nehemiah's time were separated, each one doing their own little portion of the wall and building the wall towards each other -- they became focused on their portion of the wall -- and said within themselves -- wow this is a lot harder than I thought -- and there's a whole lot of rubbish to clean out!

Is there rubbish in front of your portion of the wall? Clean it out and continue building to the wall -- there's a lot of work still left to be done!

But Nehemiah while overseeing the building of the wall was looking at the big picture and seeing a wall being built -- seeing a huge project being finished. I am watching a wall -- a ministry -- being built and I am seeing excellent all the raw diamonds in the rough polishing themselves into shining gems for the Lord! Many of you don't see how many people are coming into the Kingdom through the internet side of the ministry, how marriages are being helped, how people are being discipled and re-dedicating their lives to the Lord -- so be encouraged you may or may not realize the words you type may be helping someone grow in the Lord!

Meanwhile the enemy is constantly at the gates, so while we are building we need to have our swords ready, but always realize ultimately that the BATTLE IS THE LORDS! Be encouraged for the battle is the Lords and He's already provided us the victory!

Your brother in Christ with much agape love,

George

Very good post George. I like the analogy you used because it puts an image to the thought making it easier to remember. Good show! ;)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
