re: Oil Crisis

Our Government Knows this is going to happen. It has started already with crude oil $46.75 a barrel. :)

The Saudis have acknowledged the coming oil crisis. Publicly they say that their kingdom can meet the World's oil needs for decades to come.

Privatley they sing a different tune. They have a saying; My father rode a camel. I drive a car. My son flies a jet airplane, His son will ride a camel.

You can do your own search by going to Google, and type in Oil Peak.

I am a bit of a sci-fi fan so I hope to see a new power source akin to fusion in my lifetime. Just think though what an accident at a fusion plant may cause compared to a nuclear power plant

Realistically I think Christ will probably come back before either oil runs out completely or a big new power source is created. :il:

Even if we do have a new power source developed in our life time I would remind you that oil is not just a power source. Look around you and you may will discover that most every thing around you that is not pure metal or wood comes from oil. All kinds of plastic's along with almost fertleizer coming from Natural Gas which is also peaked and getting more scarce, there is much more to the problem than a power source.

Right now very little of our electricity comes from oil, mostly from coal. I think Natural Gas is second and Neuk's are third.

It will be much more than electric cars and planes.

Considering the topic and the course of this discussion something just came to my mind.

Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand [and] six hundred furlongs.

Provided that the verse is talking about a future event, could it be that when it does occur, the world will already have returned to horses and buggies? I've read books where the authors (who normally follow a literal interpretation any other time) insist that the verse uses "horses" because John didn't know how to describe modern vehicles any other way. Can you imagine having to use horses instead of cars, but still have nuclear weapons to wage "big" war with?

What are all your thoughts?

[on a side note]

In the history of the world our generation is the one with no "foot" in the past. If we do run out of oil an older person will be valuable to have around because they know "stuff", the details of how to survive without electricity and cars and modern conveniences. My parents went thru a blackout 11 yrs ago when a ice-storm hit in the south. They were tickled pink and were sad when the electricity came back on. Old people seem to be better "prepared" for the unexpected.

Oh yeah, thanks for that website Snowdove!

I doubt we will ever use horses again as our main form of transportation.. :)

Electric, solar, inertia and other alternative powered vehicles are viable... but, theyre not being used yet for mainly two or three reasons.

1, for mass production, auto manufacturers would have to refit all the plants that they own.. expensive.

2, people dont like change, they like the cars they have, even with the gasoline and polution.

3, gas powered engines are currently more powerful. they have more horsepower, they can go faster, they can carry heavier loads. alternative engines that could be mass produced just dont have that kind of power in a practical vehicle (not a specialized race car), but they do work.

So.. we probably wont see much of a change over until there isnt a choice anymore.

We also have an ever growing resource, probably the largest resource in the world.

Garbage. Theres a lot that is being made out of trash these days, and there is still a lot more that can be made. You can recycle it and build things, and even make energy out of it, but the economic structure is already based around OTHER resources and forms of energy, and these people dont want that money to stop comming in, they want it to keep filling up thier pockets as long as it can.

Imagine telling an oil company that we will now use battery powered cars, and build things out of recycled garbage and aluminum.. and that we will be using recycled motor oil and lubricants to make plastic, new oil will only make up the difference in the plastic we cant recycle or make out of trash.... they would not be pleased, at all.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
