Fossilised mind control, 48 million years ago 00:01 18 August 2010 This [see image at link] carpenter ant (Camponotus leonardi) is caught in the throes of a fungus-induced death grip. It has clamped itself to a leaf 25 centimetres above a forest floor in Thailand, and died. The reason is growing out of the back of its head. The reddish-brown stalk is made by a fungus called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, which has invaded the ant's body and manipulated its behaviour. The exposed position is ideal for releasing spores. I go by my Bible too; Genesis doesn't tell us that nothing existed before Creation. It tells us the earth was dark and void. I believe God wiped out a lot of things before the Creation (ants and roaches were not among them). Don't you think that the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, knew that dinosaurs and man couldn't share the earth? I believe He did; that's why dinosaurs became extinct. Ants and the like....no problem.
