I suggest you fast, and pray, and if you can not choose to do what is right, then I suggest you try to find some other thing, to comfort you which is not so bad as that. Maybe you could drink alittle alcohol every once in a while to help you, but if that would lead you to do other things which are hurtful to you, then please do not do that.

I hope I am not reading this like it sounds. Please, do not listen to this advice. Under-age drinking is a sin.

A verse comes to mind: Philippians 4:8 "Finally brothers, Whatever is true, Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."

the first step, like someone else said, is recognizing that you have a problem, which you have. the next step i would advise is to start ridding yourself of those things in your life that tempt you. first and foremost, would be internet. if it is causing you to sin, get rid of it.

Better yet, if you can't afford to get an internet filter, then trash the computer. Nothing is more important than Jesus and obeying Him.

I know you have prayed about this and that is what you need to do. But God is not going to do it for you.

You have to act and be disciplined. You have to be aware and strong. God will help you, but only if you can help yourself.

Keep praying. God will provide ways for you to defeat this, but there has to  be action on your part.

If no action has been going on, then I wouldn't be on this forum asking for help... Why do you think I am asking if there are any free internet filters? I have tried, that is the whole point. Yeah, I can see where you are coming from if I haven't tried to discipline myself. But the thing is, I have tried, and utterly failed.

Well you have no money try selling your computer. That will help solve two problems. :laugh: Alcoholics have to be willing to go through the house and get rid of all the liquor. It's just as serious, get rid of every stumbling block until you are strong enough to fight it yourselves. Once you have gotten rid of it all find your self an acountability partner. Somone who is willing to get in your face and get real with you, because they love you. Try a pastor or someone from church. Yes you may of been hurt in relationships in the past but that is the past and you have to deel with where you are now. The Lord offers His help through His body. If you don't let His body help, then ultimately you aren't letting the Lord help you. All you need to do is go to one person.

I agree with "Called", but I first want you to consider this event and what Jesus said about it:

Matt 17:14-21 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. 16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

There are spirits with varying degrees of power. Some can simply be rebuked by the power of Jesus Name. Others, as in the case above, takes LOTS of prayer and fasting.

Find a local mentor that will understand and pray with and for you. Talk to him often about your struggles.

Believe it or not, we have angels watching over us. Perhaps you might want to ask God to reveal those angels to you. You might be surprised where they turn up. Like while you are at the computer.

Keep the faith, keep looking up, and know that you have started in the right direction.

Have you checked any community service organizations dealing with your problem. There may be some support groups available. I sincerely hope God answers your prayers and I know it was a big step coming here, but Jesus knows your heart, and as a brother in Christ, I'm proud of you for wanting to stop this sin in your life......God Bless you...:dove

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
