Bob, with all due respect complacency has nothing to do with that. My "child-like" fear and respect has been replaced with a more mature love and understanding for the divine will and way of God.

My motives are in the right place with God Bob. We all stumble and make mistakes and sin now and then. Who doesn't? What is important is that we realize our error, seek God's guidance and forgiveness and try not to let it happen again.

I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. When a person is first saved, it does give you a Euphoria and it's new and it's fresh and powerful. When I was first saved Bob, I was too fearful of God and I learned that I didn't have to fear Him as much as I did when I was first saved, but I do fear Him in the right way.

In Christ

:)

I disagree Kat - it is complacency brought on by a prideful and self righteous heart. I do not recall targeting my post towards you however....and you need not try to convince me of anything - it's between you and God. I was only speaking from personal experience...VERY personal experience. As the Psalm I posted says "Search me O God and know my heart "...God knows us better than anyone, including ourselves. We can't look to anyone else for absolution but Him. We are responsible to submit and humble ourselves before Him and admit our faults. I was guilty of it for the longest time....lived a life of lies - telling myself that all was fine.....it wasn't. God had to break me down and completely rebuild me - which He's still in the process of doing....but one thing I've found ? That "Euphoric feeling" you spoke of ? I never experienced it until I came clean with God....and I mean REALLY came clean. And I've also found that it doesn't have to be a "honeymoon" experience....it can be a part of your everyday life when you submit to the convictions of the Holy Spirit......

Just offering my perspective is all here Kat - not meant to say your heart isn't right with God....that's not my place.

God bless,

Bob

BOB, your children, at the point that they become aware of their surroundings, think of you as the wisest, strongest, most learned man they know. They have "a child-like" faith in you. They don't know the history of your life. They don't know the trials and tribulations that you went through to become the Father that you are to them.

As they grow older and you teach them, based upon your experiences, life and it's consequences, they have a much deeper respect for you, based upon their understanding of what you went through.

So it is with Christians. When an unsaved person first accepts Jesus, they have a "child-like" faith in God. You don't become a Christian with a deep understanding of God already in your mind. It has to be learned and the learning process makes one more mature.

This is what I was talking about or referring to, when I spoke of maturing. just as your children have learned more about you, Christians learn more about God as they go along, but the "Euphoria" that I was speaking of also matures.

The "Euphoria" changes. It becomes deeper and more thorough, because unlike the beginning of our acceptance of God, the feeling of euphoria changes as our understanding of God deepens.

Also the "Euphoria" that I spoke of, is the Holy Spirit and He dwells in me and I have experienced that "euphoria" (the Holy Spirit) when I pray, when I go into my prayer closet or just if I feel especially blessed by something that is said about God or by a song that I hear that blesses my heart. The Holy Spirit is ALWAYS there for us, it's just that we feel the Holy Spirit in our hearts more at some times than others.

Blessings,

Kat

Kat ...I absolutely have to agree with you on this .....

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence -- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

A royal child has reached a stage of spiritual maturity and is obedient to the Father NOT because he fears a beating, and NOT because he desires a reward. A royal child is obedient because he knows he is loved, and he knows that, because of his Father's Love (which was always there but not always perceived) he will someday receive all that his Father possesses!

So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:7

When your love for someone is so strong, as strong as a child's love for his/her Father, what do you fear more than anything in the world?

If you dare become "complacently familiar" with God, you will not fear Him.

Blessed is the one who is never without fear, but one who is hard-hearted will fall into calamity, Proverbs 28:14. Or, to put it another way, "Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord". You see, God assures us that if we always fear Him.

You have grown too comfortable with God - "complacently familiar." You no longer have that healthy respect (fear). If this is you, you need to hit your knees in real fear and repentance.

Examine the attitude of the two women who knew Jesus best - Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, as they leave Jesus' tomb after discovering the wonderful news the angel delivered to them (emphasis mine).

Matthew 28:5-9 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb, AFRAID YET FILLED WITH JOY (emphasis mine), and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshipped him.

They were afraid (filled with the fear of the Lord), and joyful! Can you see the attitude of the hearts of these two Marys? They feared their Lord, and that allowed them to love Him all the more! Can you relate to those feelings?

Shadow just what do you believe happens to the unsaved when judgement day comes?

-THE UNSAVED ARE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE---

-MATT.25:vs.41------

-Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his

-angels.

-REV.14:vs.11--------

-And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have

-no rest day nor night...

REV.20:vss.12.Thru.15------

-And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were

-opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life...And whosoever

-was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

-MATT-10:vs.28-- And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the -soul:but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

LUKE.12:vs.5---------

-But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which AFTER

-he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

MATT.18:vss.8.9--------

-Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from

-thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two

-hands or feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it

-out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye,

-rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

-ANNIE--All I was saying was Hell was NOT"Originally" created for man--It was

-only created in the "Beginning" for the devil & his fallen angels....GOD "Originally"

-& Still Desires--Wants-For ALL men TO be "SAVED" & Not be cast into Hell-----

-2nd.Peter.3:vs.9--------

-The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;but is

-longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but

-that all should come to repentance.

Hebrews 10:26Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received a full knowledge of the truth, there is no other sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible expectation of God's judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. 28Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to his people.

30For we know the one who said, "I will take vengeance. I will repay those who deserve it." He also said, "The Lord will judge his own people." 31It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Now I am not intending to turn this into a OSAS deal. I felt these verses applied to Christians having a fear of God. God is equally loving and just. He requires everything from us. It's not enought to merely say that we have a respect for God. We have to have a reverent fear which is quite different. It's about accountability to doing what God has commanded us knowing that in His justice and love he will correct us if we disobey. It's about recognizing His power to carry out that judgement as a result of our disobedience. It's about realizing how much God hated sin as we see in the story of the Cross. We will never ever be able to repay Jesus for what he did for us on the Cross, taking all of our sin and shame but we need to live trying. We owe God our "reverent fear". Its part of recognizing who He is and who we are.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
