I'm interested in reading any of your opinions and thoughts pertaining to the unicorns in scripture. Any discussion concerning unicorns in general will be of interest that might would shed some light on these creatures. I've been intrigued if that is the right word in what is being expressed in the Word of God concerning unicorns. Just any knowledge you might want to share things maybe you've heard etc,. you may have of unicorns in general will be of interest. Thanks

Unicorn

Numbers 23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath "as it were" the strength of an "unicorn".

Numbers 24:8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath "as it were" the strength of an "unicorn": he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

Job 39:9-10 Will the "unicorn" be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with "his" band in the furrows ? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

Psalms 29:6 He maketh "them" also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn

Psalms 92:10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

Unicorn(s)

Dueteronomy 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horn(s) "are like" the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

Psalms 22:21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

Isaiah 34:7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

All the modern translations, including NKJV and NASB say "wild ox"...?

I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard from one source when the translators were trying to determine what the animal was, whoever it was they were asking showed them an animal skin. It was half the skin, thus having only one horn, so they called it a "unicorn".

:noidea:

Most of the commentaries I looked at identify this animal as a rhino (which does have a single horn on its nose).

According to the Irish Rovers, the unicorns were playing silly games while Noah was loading the ark. By the time they realized that the waters were rising, the ark was on it's way.

That's why you won't see a unicorn this very day. :)

Well, a rhino sure does make more sense than a horse or ram in those verses.

Rhinos can be pretty light on their feet if they want to be and can turn very quickly and suddenly.
