notice how this makes a political statement yet doesn't participate in a political campaign?

This is what Alice is talking about. I'm not saying that I necessarily agree completely with him but that is what he is communicating...

I've heard his bio before. He is the son of a Pentacostal preacher in Phoenix area and his first band was his football team. They were all high-school jocks who won some battle of the bands contest by being the most dramatic though they were all novices on their instruments (as the story goes...not sure I buy that part though)

They took the show to southern California and got popular real fast with their unique blend of theatre and music and Vince Furnier started to take on the persona of the person called Alice Cooper. This good kid began living like a rock star and drinking heavily though he mantains the band was never into drugs. He laughs about how the "really heavy" rock bands back then were straight and all the pop stars were the real druggies.

THOSE GUYS ROCKED LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS!!!!!!

(ahem..)

They were quite a band.

I regard Alice as one the most briliant pioneers of rock music history. He invented this genre before Kiss, before Gwar, before Marilyn Manson, and before all those other bands we seem to consider as "satanic" rock.

Yet I never got the impression that Alice was trying to make me hate God. Did you?

He was very controversial with some stage antics...and EVERYONE wondered if he "really" did that...or was it optical illusion?

As a classic rock con-a-sewer, I can tell you they were total FABBO!

Alice married a christian woman in his early 20s who has been beside him for decades now though he never really particated much in a spiritual lifestyle for many years (as we can all imagine) but he was sitting next to RC Sproul on a flight one day and they began talking....

Now he's a believer who avoids christian celebrity status like the places he's been seeing in his famous "nightmare"

Speaking of KISS. I heard Gene Simmons say on a political talk show (maybe Hannity and Colmes) that he supports Bush. Go figure? Ted Nugent and Sammy Hagger as well. I can't say I like their music that much. I still like the Fabs and Zep.

Any way, I do know that Gene Simmons has declared his support for the state of Israel. He kept away from politics during most of his Kiss career, but jumped in a few years ago when they were just finishing up one of their "last" tours.

He was born there and immigrated to the US when he was little.

A busy man these days.

Don't forget Amy Grant is also a Bush supporter, along with martial arts movie star Chuck Norris, who is also born again.

Apologies about my misinfo regarding Alice Cooper...I'm not a huge fan (although he did write some good to maybe great tunes). I HATE KISS though. Sorry.

Anyway, yeah, Joey Ramone supports Bush too. What is that?? I still like the band because they are awesome but...oh well, I guess you can't always trust them for judgement. Dee Dee did once attempt a rap album...

Oh yes, I'm going to vote someone into the most powerful position in the United States because rock stars told me to! lolol...I've never understood this mentality. I guess there really are ppl out there who care what Barbra Striesand or Dave Matthews think. I don't. Just because a person is a gifted musician or actor does not mean they are wise. Geeze.

Incidentally...my brother accidentally played golf with Alice Cooper once..lol.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
