My old preacher used to say, that you can tell who loves Christians, by who shows up for Church.

"If a person loves to swim, than you are going to find them at the pool, all the time, therefore if a person loves Christians, than you will be able to find them at Church, every time the doors are open

So anyone who does not attend church hates christians?

Man, that provocative, and you know it is  The poster never said that, nor was it implied.

Again I think probably the wording more than anything else. Was it Spurgeon or Luther (I am not sure), who said (paraphrasing now), that if anyone is a Christian and wishes to learn more about Jesus in their walk, they should go where other Christians go - to Church.

My personal opinion (based on me, and not on others), is that I need church, and the ancillary stuff like courses, home groups, prayer meetings, mens breakfasts, guest speakers, outreach etc, that stems from it. It keeps me focused, and if I miss a few weeks for reasons beyond my control, I start to feel it.

Worthy does the same thing for me in a way. It fills in the gaps and keeps me focused, especially when there is good scriptural stuff being discussed. I also ask advice of a few people I have learned to trust on pm's. This strengthens me and many times has uplifted me.

Worthy has also shown me the "other side" of faithfulness, grace and mercy at times. (as has life in general). This is not a bad thing, because it makes me think (and despair at times), but strengthens my personal resolve.

I have a burning to be with the things of God... I have been with that which was not of God! The two are like night and day.... :)

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter,

but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. Psalms 55:21

]If you have the courage to read this thread, and all he Scripture it's filled with, one of two things will happen.

➀ The Lord will either give you an assurance of your salvation:

➁ Or, the Holy Spirit will convict you of sin, righteousness and judgement:

(Your sin, His righteousness and your judgement to come.)

I can see you've never had the privilege of debating a well versed atheist.

Simply reading scripture will not convict anyone of their sin.

Well Versed

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Isaiah 29:11-12

Or Blind As A Brick

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Feed Them The Very Very Best

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Simply reading scripture will not convict anyone of their sin.

I stand by what I said. To the nonbeliever, the bible is just a book. Unless someone is truly repentant, reading scripture is pretty much a waste of time. Your heart has to be conditioned to receive the Word. If you're unable to acknowledge that you're a sinner, those scriptures mean nothing.

Let's take a look at the verses you posted.

Gods Word says.......

Galatians 3:24

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

What's the key word in that verse?

Faith.

In order to have true faith, you must believe in your heart and have a desire to draw closer to God. God isn't going to convict the nonbeliever just because he reads the words. In order for conviction to take place, the reader must be repentant.

John 5:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

And the key to this verse is the reader's belief in the Father. One can listen to the scriptures all day long but if there is no belief in God, it's nothing but noise.

John 16:7-11

V.7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

V.8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

V.9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

V.10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

V.11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Gods Word is what tells us of our sin, the Lords righteousness and the Judgment to come.

To the nonbeliever there is no God. They don't acknowledge sin as we do. Their righteousness is simply being good. They have no understanding because they don't believe.

The best told story or parable about Jesus, does not have the power to touch mens hearts.

Only Gods Word, has that power!

Its a supernatural process.

The Word of God will only touch the heart that accepts it.

One will know he or she is saved if Jesus personally tells them, or the following Verse explains.

(Matthew 25:31-46)"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

2 Cor 10:3-6

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

NKJV

Do you understand by this verse alone you are outside of God's revealed Word?

John 1:1-14

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

NKJV

Your foundation is with God's Word alone... satan will try to move you so that God's Word is not enough you must rely on other ??? [this is not found in God's Word!] so where did you get this information?

All things in life weather physical or conceptions of the mind are built upon foundations this is called the beginning premise to all that is following.... your beginning premise is that God's Word is not enough to lead people to salvation this will not pass through the fires of God!

Luke 6:48-49

48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great."

NKJV

1 Cor 3:11-15

11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

NKJV

I hope you see it is not your going away from the Word of God to bring them to it BUT your standing upon it in order for God The Father to draw them to it.... Love Steven

Yes and you are completely ignoring that he said it was the Holy Spirit that will convict of sin. He did not say just reading this thread would do accomplish that.

And judging from your responses, he's right.

You know, your argumentative attitude is really making this out to be alot worst than it actually is.

Hello man

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
