1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

As I understand this verse, doesn't this imply that there will be good prophets and bad prophets? And didn't John ask us to "try the spirits" to see "whether they are of God" which means that IF they are of God, are they not prophets???

Hence Jeremy's original question....:t2:

If they are of God THEY ARE TRUE PROPHETS!

Kelli, in all due respect, there are no true prophets today.

If you disagree, can you name some, that are 100% accurate? Do they meet the Biblical definition of a prophet?

2PET 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2PET 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

2TIM 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

-- For me the Bible is like a map that I take with me, I dont know who wrote but I trust and follow the directions. Jesus said he would send us like sheeps to the wolfs, I see the Bible as my guide l given by God to me.

-- But when I found out that once upon the time the Holy Bible had 8 extra book that were taken from it after the reform I had to ask God how should I know for sure that every thing I need is included in the 66 books of the Bible only.

-- God answere me at one of my visits to the Holy Land Experience in Orlando. I finish to watch the play about the tabernacles were in one scene the sacerdots put the 12 breads in the gold table. Six in each side as ordered by God expecificly. One brother in Christ asked me at the end (not knowing that I was praying for an answer) If I know why God asked to put six breads on the right and six on the left?

I responded off course because the 12 tribes one for each.

He than responded that this was what he thought for many years. Till one day God remember him of the "66" books in the Bible. There is no coincidence that it is also on six on the left and the other on the right. Jesus said I am the bread of the live who eats of me will never be hungry again.

So here are the verses if you want to chek it out.

LEV 24:5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake

LEV 24:6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD

PS 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

If it is in heaven I can trust in it here it is never gone change.

With all my love to your son

Suzana

This was my son's first time to ask any type of questions about God to the extent that he has. My husband Senerhu and I have been praying for his salvation and have asked others to pray for his salvation as well.

He asked me to post these things on the board for him and I consider that to be progress, which I am very thankful for.

My sole purpose and intent on posting this thread was to help my son and I believe that it did and I thank God for that.

Thanks to everybody that posted in this thread and may God bless.

We may not agree on everything, but the important thing is, that a SOUL is coming to God. Let's put aside our differences of opinion on false prophets or anything else that was mentioned in this thread with what my son had questions about and be the MATURE Christians that God expects us to be.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
