I am using my husbands account...Can anyone speak to 1 Cor 14:34 and 1 Timothy 2:11 regarding women and silence?

Before i was a christian i was a "new age" share the roles man, and was raised a athiest, having no church experience or bible knowledge till i was 28 yrs old.

1 Tim 2:13+14 give us the reason of this command and Paul says in 1 Cor 14:37 that the command comes directly from Jesus, if anyone wants to argue otherwise i dont see how. The cultural arguement believed by some is refuted by 1 Tim 2:13+14.

Unfortunatley many cults and carnal christians have given this subject a bad rap, and distorted its purpose and reasons.

But let us reason among ourselves. Jesus always treated women fairly and respectfully, so we know that this is not a rigid "shut your mouth women, im the superior being" command, nor is it that women dont hear from God or are not to have a voice, as we know there are women prophets, and Deborah was a Judge in Israel.

But because women and men are different in our pshycological and physiological make up, it can cause unprofitable meetings if there is debate over doctrine or practice. God is a God of order and has commanded that women ask their husbands at home rather than join in debates.

Women need to remain under the headship of men for a covering and protection against the fallen angels, this is just how God has ordered things for the smooth running of His kingdom. Those who will not heed sound doctrine expose themselves to error and decieving spirits. Men too can be decieved and we must remain under Christs headship and be submitted to other men who God has placed in our lives for our protection and covering.

But we are in the last days and what was accepted for about the last 1900 years is now being thrown out by many.

1 Corinthians 14:34 The context of this verse concerns prophecy, but includes the general theme of the chapter, i.e., "tongues." Rather than leading, they are to be submissive as God's Word makes clear. Apparently, certain woman were out of order in disruptively asking questions publicly in the chaotic services.

1 Timothy 2:11 Paul explains his meaning in verse 12: Women are to be silent by not teaching, and they are to demonstrate submission by not usurping the authority of the pastors or elders.

1 Corinthians 14:34 "(a)Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak;" In churches at that time, men and women did not normally sit together, but rather on opposite sides of the room; the women would call out to their husbands asking for an explanation concerning certain things, which was interrupting the services.

(b)"but they are commanded to be under obedience as also says the law." This refers back to Genesis 3:16 ("Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in sorrow you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you.") and the Creation model.

1 Timothy 2:11 "(a)Let the woman learn in silence" it's meaning is made clear in the above Scripture (b)"with all subjection." Ephesians 5:22-25 gives meaning to the second part: 22: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, (the Holy Spirit is relating to the spiritual leadership of the family) as unto the Lord." (First of all, the submission to be to the Lord as Lord and Master, and not to the husband. If the wife properly submits to the Lord, she will properly submit to her husband as it regards spiritual leadership, that is if he knows the Lord. If he doesn't know the Lord, such submission cannot be given.) 23: "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Savior of the body." Although the husband cannot be the savior of his wife, he can be her protector and provider. 24: "Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ (as its head), so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing." This presumes that the husband is conducting himself even as Christ would. For a proper application of this teaching, we as husbands must apply this last verse to ourselves 25: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it..." Our love must be with a God kind of love. This verse presents to us the qualifier; if a husband conducts himself accordingly (as Christ did for His Bride) toward his wife, she will have no problem submitting to him. We men also forget sometimes, to consider verse 28: "So ought men love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." This verse proclaims that husbands and wives are of one flesh and are one in the sacred union of marriage.

Well, that's my bit. :)

I believe that it's short for "no women pastors." It didn't occur in the Old Testamnet and it extends into the New.

Wives submit to your husbands(singles and divorced to a church-Godly leadership)

Husbands Love your wives as Christ loved the church(as both submit to God)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
