I was reading one of the Grace Gems from the other section. The one titled "Perplexity." And one of the statements was this :

"What shall I say?"

Sixthly, we must say that patience and perseverance are required under our trials. We must not murmur, we must not complain

God's Word should always be our guide. Whatever conforms to the Bible is from God. And one of the things the Bible teaches us is that God is in COMPLETE control of our lives. He gives us our every breath, our every heartbeat. EVERYTHING in the life of a believer is under God's control. Whatever happens in our lives, good or bad, God allows. So, don't fear, don't worry, and sleep soundly. God works everything out for our good.

Yeah, I know He works all things out for our good, cause He loves us so much, but I have this worry problelm. Ask Wandering Sparrow. I always wonder where these events in my life came from. I never know quite how to handle them except to lift them up to God in prayer, cause when I try to fix them myself, I just make the situation worse. And many times, there is nothing else to do but pray. I kinda feel like I'm spinning my wheels lately. One problem is tied to another and very much catch 22. I don't know, maybe God is trying to teach me to rely more on Him. But I already trust Him with my life. What else is left to learn regarding these situations in my life ?

I was reading one of the Grace Gems from the other section. The one titled "Perplexity." And one of the statements was this :

"What shall I say?"

Sixthly, we must say that patience and perseverance are required under our trials. We must not murmur, we must not complain — but patiently follow wherever the Lord leads, and quietly bear whatever the Lord lays on us. He will not lay on us more than we are able to bear; but with every temptation He will make a way for our escape, that we may be able to bear it. Patience must calm the spirit, quiet the heart, and close the mouth. Then shall we say with the Psalmist, "I was silent, I opened not my mouth, because You are the One who has done this!" Had it been man — it might have been wrong. Had it been chance — it might have been injurious. But it was You — and, therefore, it must be wise, holy, and kind.

But this is something I have trouble with all the time. Discerning somethings origin. I ask God to let me know, but.....

nothing. And I was under the assumption that there are no such things as coincidences when you walk with God. So I am always at a loss to know from where something that is in my life came.

How can you tell, like the Psalmist above does, if something that is in your life is from God ? Now, I know He allows things to happen cause of our own actions, but this sounds like something totally different.

Some of the truths God presents to us are scary! The heart is deceitful above all things and only God can know our hearts! For me this makes me very small for I can have an opinion about myself but not the surety of what I actually place the weight of my faith in a given situation... An example I say I love The Lord and there have been times where certain things came about and I reacted the opposite way I should have if I truly loved God with all of my entirety as I thought! So then it boils down to am I going to stick to my opinion or the testimony of my actions? Because James has said that the truth of our faith is seen in our actions or better the works Jesus did in His Own Body should be seen in our bodies that are given to Him in the control of His Spirit! This is the point where all things are examined by His Word and the fruit of our lives... it also makes us naked in our souls as to strength of our own to change and prayer becomes the only resource to effect real and permanent results for His glory unto eternity! The daily work is to have the yielded heart to be willing to see as He sees no mater the cost in the actions it brings forth... I am most concerned about the garden where He bled drops of blood mixed within His sweat in desire for another way yet resolved in His will to yield to The Fathers Will! Seeing this power in Himself which now in me ... yet I have not utilized in my own life to any such degree or magnitude what shall I give as account of this to The Father??? It is here I understand Paul in Rom 7 I thank God for the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ... Love Steven

And the things that can happen to us can literally be so earthshattering that it saps you of the very energy to keep going....remembering that bad things DO happen to good people...my sis and my family are going thru this at the moment - my sister's child died of leukemia at 15 last July - it has knocked the wind out of my family and has nearly pushed us to the edge...4 family members having died in the last 10 years....these kinds of things bring you to your knees where you realise that God does not discriminate and when all is said and done, we need to get it right, here and now in our standing with God...for who knows when our time is up and what lies ahead? Only He does.

I have found that the closer I walk with God, the easier it is to hear the answer. His Spirit guides and teaches us; gives us gifts and empowers us; rebukes us and reward us with His fruit. The more we become like Him, the more we can see what is not from Him.

Thanks nooby. I always look for the wise words of your's and FresnoJoe's.

HisGirl : I am so sorry for your family's loss. Words are sort of useless at such times. I always feel admiration at the strength families display at such times, by the mere fact that they still get up in the morning and carry on. What else is there left to do ?

Please except my condolences. It's all I have.

And of course, my prayers.....

Love,

Song In The Night

I guess I'm just suppose to take care of what I am able myself to take care of, give the rest to God, thank Him that He will always be with me, and not care where the situation came from, cause God is in charge of it all anyway.

I was sort of thinking along those lines as well. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing from the word of God. But the small brain hemorages I had a few years ago brought about an unwelcome change. Now the 2 meds I am on have the side effect of confusion and I can sense it big time. It is so hard for me to read the word. It is very hard to concentrate. But I've noticed since I've been posting here, I am getting a little sharper. I have slowly weened myself off of 3 of them. And am down to 1 and a half now. Soon it will be none, and I will be able to think sharp and clear again. There has been a time or two when I said "no more" and do not take them and think sooooo clearly, but then the bad symptoms pop up, so I am forced to take them again. For now.

I've been reading psalms and proverbs. But a good healthy chunk of Romans or Genesis is what I am craving.

I want to go deeper into the word. So I will know what is from God, and what is not.

What I have done to overcome my issues is I bought the Word of Promise Audio Bible - NJKV. It is beautifully done and I love listening to it. I listen when I am driving or at home when I can follow along with my bible. My trouble is that I have to focus on every word and understand every word when I read. When I listen, there is no need for a connection between what I see and think, I just listen. I have always had a tough time reading.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
