Why Do atheists Attack Christianity?

Why Do atheists Attack Christianity? sure there are peaceful atheist out there but most of them seem to want to try soooooooooooo hard into disproving God like if if there where right the would gain something out of crushing someone else's faith??????? when Christians try to turn someone to God it is out of love rather then hate when MOST atheist try to disprove God it seems they do it to get joy... thats just sad and sorry not to mention why dont the go after other religions as well such as wiccan, jewish, buddhism, hinduism and so on.... even on this board alone there are alot of atheist... why whats the point? if they dont believe in God why not just go on living their life? whats the point in joining a board to try and crush someone's faith?

im sure i will get jumped on for asking this but i truthfully want to know.

The belief of man's origins crosses all cultures...primitive to modern and I think this is a core reason as to why it is a hot topic .....it is a basic human condition to believe that man started from somewhere....

but why atheists attack Christianity where as they don't seem to attack other "religious" beliefs? That is a good question....

From experience, the atheists I have met think they are right and that Christians are backward and primitive..(they forget about Western morality/laws and the link to the Ten commandments in the OT), but to argue point blank with a Muslim, they wouldn't and are much happier to "tolerate" that religion/cult...

I work at a school where atheism is shoved down the students throat and I have to accept that because it is majority rules in education? Does majority necessarily determine truth? From my experience it doesn't.

It is a good question.

If they do not believe in God, why should such belief offend them? Why get uptight about a nativity scene?

I heard someone claim that a true atheist would not care - any more than you or I care about the tooth fairy (beyond what we teach our own children) or what have you.

He then suggested that such atheists who are attacking Christianity are really agnostics in rebellion against God.

If you listen to their arguments, it makes sense. When asked to disprove the existence of God, their arguments are on why they do not believe there is a loving being in charge of the universe as Christians describe Him. Basically, their attack is against the Bible, not the existence of an undefined supreme being of any sort.

It's the ultimate danger to their belief system, so they feel attacked by it in a mentally unstable manner. Here I would be talking about those who attack Christianity. Some are so desperate that they will use any argument - regardless of how illogical or silly it is. Those who are comfortable and stable in their unbelief simply don't care unless some Christian gets too aggressive in witnessing. You will not find a comfortable and stable atheist on a Christian forum bashing Christians. In fact, you won't find them on a Christian forum at all.

They do it because they are not actually atheists. If they didn't actually believe in God, they would be as apt to speak about Him as am I to speak of the Tooth Fairy!

No. They know God exists, AND THEY HATE HIM. That is the only possible explanation for their actions.

I have asked the question many times....why do atheists come to Christian sites, such as this one, and argue endlessly against the existence of God? After all, they don't believe in Him. No atheist has ever given me a logical answer. IMO, they are driven to do this even if they don't understand why. They are puppets of the enemy and, subconsciously KNOW that God exists. Many of them come here to 'debate' and when they realize they'll never get anywhere, they become nasty and hateful. Some pretend to be seekers or even Christians (as if everyone doesn't see through such deceptions!) and attempt to influence believers through a more benign form of attack (note the never ending threads on evolution and the idea that man is just another animal and the universe a random accident). This is a futile exercise as well. They simply must do this before their time runs out.

I doubt if anyone is going to jump on you for telling the truth, Autumn. Btw, the reason they don't attack other 'religions' is because their master isn't concerned about those, he knows they're irrelevant. They will tell you they attack all faiths; it's a lie. For the most part, ALL of their energies are directed at Christianity.

But you're right MG, it runs deeper than that......

for the most part, I'd say some atheists that have frequented Worthy have had their eyes opened for the better, whether they realise it or not...

We can only hope, H.G. We know that the Lord would have none perish....and perish is exactly what these poor souls will do if they don't come to the truth.
