Scudbuddy, I don't think your last comment was necessary. And Botz is right, let's get back to the original theme of this thread. If you guys wanna duel, then start another thread, but keep it civil. Please, of course. :oww:

I am as lost as Baptist in a renewal meeting. As confused as a Nazerene at a Benny Hinn conference. Why, I am as dumbfounded as Hank Hannegraf when God shows up when He is not even on the schedule. So help me Steve!

Well, I was trying to be nice. But as long as you mention it...

My last comment to Steve was a question in the form of being funny. Steve got it. I honestly did not know what his post was. On this thread that I started, I asked for stories. Steve came on this thread after shutting down the "duel" on his thread because he was cornered. He started up the remarks, and I have reminded him on the thread (that I started) that he could drop it if he wanted to, but that didn't mean a thing to me. But my last post was just a funny in an effort to lighten things up with Steve. And I honestly did not understand his last post.

I will gladly continue the "duel" elsewhere. But Steve is not going to come on this thread and put down Pentecostals and get away with it. Speak to Steve if you have a problem. I asked for stories from even Cessationist, not comments from the Peanut Gallery.

One other thing. Being civil and nice in our conversations isn't always the Godly thing. It is to be sought, but not always required.

Jesus after doing many miracles and preaching on the Kingdom of Heaven was mocked by Pharisees. Sometimes with "questions" to trip Him up. (Notice that I confronted "questions" by Steve meant to trip us up.) By the time Jesus was through with them, the words "Viper" and "Wolves in sheeps clothing" was used. (Not saying that Steve is any of this. To his credit, he has never used insults in his post.)

On Steves post "Pentecostalism" he used it to offer up criticism of us Pentecostals. I met that debate, and then showed that his "questions" were merely subtle ways of proving us wrong. In the process I showed that he had an agenda, and that his "questions" were to open up a dialouge to trip us up. To show our weaknesses. I documented his disingenuous methods with us. And I called him on the carpet for it. He shut down the thread.

Now he is coming on a thread that I started to revisit Pentecostalism in an uplifting way, and he is offering up his negative views of us, while not giving one story of his own. And you want me to play nice. Sorry. Not going to happen. And guess what. Several other members including a few Senior members have privately sent me messages to keep it up because they know I have hit home with Steve, and that is why he shut down the thread.

If Steve doesn't like this, he should not continue his side of the debate on my thread. If you don't like my meeting the challenge of this, then forbid Pentecostals to meet the debate, and declare this a Cessationist site. You are a Royal member. I am sure you have some sort of power. Or shut me down so that I cannot give our side of the issues. But until then, I am going to meet him head on where ever he shows up. Especially on my thread.

Scud - I am not trying to "shut you down." I think you were being rude to the Baptists and Nazarenes and we have both on this board. You can speak the truth with out making fun of another denomination. That's all I was saying.

As far as your approach to steve, that is between you and him. No where did I ask you to stop your debate. I was however, trying to revert YOUR thread back to the original post.

Traveller,

If I had said "As lost as a Pentecostal in Mass", would you have considered that rude? I was not trying to be rude to Baptist or Nazerenes or anyone. My statement was to show how lost I was. If you bring a person in a setting that is opposite of his experience, he is lost in the process. Nothing against his character. It is the way it is. Baptist and Nazerenes have strengths that Pentecostals do not have and vice-versa. But we are all lost in the opposite enviornment. Just the way it is. I know because I have been that Pentecostal in the middle of Mass. I have seen the Baptist at our renewal meetings, and I spoken to Nazerenes who attended Benny Hinns conferences. All of us felt lost in the unfamiliar.

As far as Hank goes, that was meant as it sounded. And it couldn't have been said to a nicer guy.

I will go on with this thread as it was intended. But Steve will be challenged everytime. Thank you for clarifying your concerns. I hope I did too.

Thank you Scudbuddy for the courage you show in taking this position and refirecting the discussion to its original focus.

I do not know Steve Hut or quite have a grasp of his theological views; however if he wants he has the freedom start a new topic on his theme of interest.

It is unfair to attempt to divert this discussion to ones own personal agenda.

Moreover, it intimates those who want to contribute to the discussion that you Scudbuddy have so graciously directed and facilitated up to this point.

Sachi

p.s. I do have another wonderful testimony that just happened to us recently - but I thought I'd hold back and leave others share.

It's really empowering, inspiring, and exciting to hear what God is doing/ has done when His children operate in faith and obedience to Him.

It build our faith.

It glorifies the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Nevertheless, the fabrication and misuse does not diminish nor negate the existence, the origin, the authenticity and the power of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
