Some reports on the Muslim Brotherhood and why we should be concerned about what is going on in Egypt with regards to them.

What is the Muslim Brotherhood?

By Julie Stahl

CBN News Mideast Correspondent

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Founded in Egypt in 1928, by Hassan al-Banna, a teacher and imam, the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is global Islamic domination and the establishment of Islamic sharia law.

"Allah is our objective, the prophet is our leader, the Koran is our law, Jihad is our way, dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope," the group's creed says.

Very few people have ever heard of the Muslim Brotherhood and yet it is considered to be the most influential Islamic movement in the United States and the world. Experts say that every prominent Islamic organization in the U.S. is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood and some have even called it an "insurgency."

<snip>

After being accused of attempting to assassinate then Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, the group was outlawed in Egypt in 1954. Nevertheless, they have the support of about one-third of the population.

Political candidates skirt the group's illegality by running as independents in national elections. They won about 20 percent of the parliament seats in 2005 and formed the largest opposition bloc.

Initially, the Islamic group was not visibly involved in the current unrest in Egypt but has since demanded the formation of a temporary government to "transfer power peacefully."

Many analysts have warned that the pro-democracy demonstrations demanding the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak could be hijacked by Islamists. Such was the case in 1979, when pro-democracy demonstrators overthrew the Shah of Iran and then lost control to radical Islamic forces.

Mubarak Blames Islamists for Chaos

<snip>

The Muslim Brotherhood appears to have endorsed Mohamed ElBaradei for president in a unity coalition without Mubarak. Members of the group have met with him, but ElBaradei has not yet said if he would welcome Islamists in his coalition.

I've heard several people equate this situation in Egypt to the revolution in Iran in 1979. I sure hope it doesn't turn out that way because the Iranians are worse off than they were 32 years ago.

That is the risk, and why they need prayers.

Same Sad Old Story

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:5

Raised To The Power Of Ten

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zechariah 12:1-3

Yet We Know

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Hope

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Praying God Will Continue To Save The Muslim

And God Bless Israel

And The IDF

In Jesus' Name

Amen

It will be a nightmare if Egypt goes that direction, not only for the the US, but for Israel. We should also be watching the other Arab nations over there.

I am reminded of all the nations that come against Israel in the end. So far they have been held back, taking their cue from Egypt.

These could certainly be earth shaking events.

The Muslim brotherhood is not a nice moderate group but it is one that brought forth all the other offshoots. They are sunni which Iran, Syria, Lebanon is not though they do play nice when it comes to figuring out how to push Israel into the sea. One of the founders I believe was from Germany where the grand mufti of Jerusalem hung out with the nazis forming ways and means to kill all the Jews of the world. Bad for everyone if they get into power and it does look like they might, they have been building up 'good' works and gaining political clout all over the place it seems. The whole middle east is burning some way or another and now Jordan is setting up a 'new' govt also. And little Egypt is all alone with no more allies around them they are entirely surrounded by those that wish them dead. We just are gonna have to wait to see who sits in the real power seat of the Egyptian gov. and how long they wish to keep up appearances of keeping the treaty. Personally I see the coming of the caliphate a revised Ottoman Empire.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
