I would of liked to see how they refilled the compressed air. Interesting view of history.

It had a hand pump much like a bicycle pump. As I remember it took about 400 strokes to pump it up fully, but it's been a while since I came across that.

I have an Italian made 177 cal pellet riffle that in one cock has a muzzle velocity of 1280 fps and have killed squirrels at 125 ft.... Its an amazing gun... but it sounds a little less than a 22 when fired. So there was a loud crack because of its larger caliber when it fired! Just no smoke...

i cant beleive it could hold that much presure and fire more then 40 shots. thats crazy.

it is even more crazy when you take in to account it was made in the late 1700's

Yes I assume spring plunger and trigger release causes air chamber increase to propel pellet ...

for some reason I'm not having any luck finding spring loaded pistols or rifles......where did you get yours
