Inconsistent news reports on Bin Laden's death

Last night it was declared the DNA evidence confirmed it was Osama. If the raid occurred yesterday, how did the DNA evidence get processed in time?

I have to admit, I was amazed at how quickly the DNA results came back. Ordinarily that takes several days to a few weeks, yet in this case they got the results in a day or two.

I have been listening to all of the various conspiracy theories all week. Some are even questioning if Bin Laden was even killed? This is one time I believe things as reported, at least with regard to Bin Laden being shot dead by the Navy Seals. With regard to the other stories, I really don't think it is all that important. I don't care if he had a weapon. Even if he was unarmed, I can't blame anyone for shooting Bin Laden, considering the way this administration deals with terrorist prisoners. I believe they are telling the truth, and if not, Obama is one stupid man. If Bin Laden is still alive, it is only a matter of time before a new video surfaces. The only thing I am sick of is all the politicizing of the story. To me, this is about justice, and nothing more. Bin Laden was responsible for planning the 9-11 attack and this was pay back time. Good riddance to this piece of human garbage, and a great big thank you to our Navy Seals for a job well done!

I think the story is basically true. He is dead. They got him. I think there were was some over ambitious reporting, wanting to be the first with breaking news and that leads to embellishment, overstatements and premature reporting. The core of the story is true.

I find it odd that they gave him a muslim funeral. After all, the liberals have squawked in our ears that he is not a muslim but simply hi-jacked the muslim religion for his agenda. If he was not a muslim, why give him a muslim funeral?

i can't vouch for the accuracy of this site, but according to this article, it's possible to complete dna analysis in 8 hours. of course, that's time in the lab, not counting time gathering and transporting the samples.

Talking with someone else recently, she had watched the news for several hours that night, and she heard the news reporters correcting the account and apologizing for the inaccurate early reports.

Me thinks the news media either needs a more accurate source, or they need to be sure their information is correct before blabbing it.

I agree with you on that one. But they all want to be the first to break a story, or to give new details, so false details always come out because they don't check them first.

I say we fire the whole lot of news broadcast networks and start over with new ones! Lol.

The problem is that you are assuming there was a dialysis machine because that's what the rumor has been for years; there was never any confirmation of that. You have to remember, this guy lived rough and on the land for several years too; if he had been on dialysis he would not have survived at all. Even in highly populated parts of Pakistan, such modern medical equipment would be very rare.

Also, if this had been Osama's home for any amount of time, I am sure the place had lots of items. Too many to list everything on the compund, probably. Perhaps there had been a dialysis machine, but no one thought to report it. Just because someone didn't report seeing one doesn't mean that there wasn't one there.

This morning on the news, they are releasing information that the Administration is having to walk back some of the information it gave to the media within the first hours after the attack. Evidently, there was no fire fight with OBL and some other stuff that we were told may not have been accurate. Nothing that affects the primary core of the story, just secondary details that were not true.

of course, but i would imagine if anything ever warranted such a rush, this would be it.
