Dreams are awesome! God can speak to people in their dreams, I guess (although this has never happened to me), but dreams are generally manifestations of the unconscious. It's a good idea to write them down, usually they'll clue you in to the state of your mind, emotions, etc. that you would ignore or not realize otherwise.

I've had a teacher for several years who is great at interpreting dreams (she studies Jung, who is very cool), and she's taught us some basic stuff. Many symbols that appear in dreams are universal archetypes, so it's possible to analyze dreams as a whole.

Now, I don't know much about your dream other than the plot (usually it helps to know specific emotions, reactions etc) but it's clear that it's NOT about something that will happen, dreams aren't usually literal foretellings. The rape theme usually suggests a warning that you are feeling overpowered or abused by something, that you are powerless to control something in your life. Being chased usually suggests that you're trying to get away from something you don't think that you can conquer (or insecurity). My initial response was that you were dealing with your masculine unconscious that had been for some reason repressed (maybe because you don't assert those qualities?) but the fact that the guy in the dream is from your past gave me the idea that maybe something from your past that you'd put behind you is lingering in your mind and you're dwelling on it. You might not even know what it is - it could be something that will pop up in a little while. But it seems like there is something you're trying to forget that is somehow frightening because you can't suppress it and you know it'll come up sooner or later.

My disclaimer is right here: I've only been doing this for a few years so it's entirely possible that I'm off with this. But I'm interested to know if this fits you. The archetypes in your dream are pretty common ones, so it seems fairly clear.

Peace!

O my dear, your dream has very important spiritual significance. I am not going into details, cause the thread will be removed again. But take my advice. Involve your self in spiritual warfare the best way you know how. And break and renounce any and all evil covenants and agreements (thru dreams,  spoken words or did) both  known and unknown, conscious and unconscious.  God aloud  this dream for reason, ask Him to show you what to do step by step, in order to remove the grounds from the enemy, and to give you wisdom and understanding to receive what He is going to reveal to you. God bless you.

georgesbluegirl, thankyou for your post. You've had a lot of good things to say here and I read your post twice.

I feel that the Lord has already shown me what the dream means. I don't think it's anything from my past at all or anything that is repressed. Your idea of writing it down is a great idea. I had never thought of doing that before.

I've placed it in the Lord's hands and I know if I do what is necessary myself, that the Lord will take care of it for me. I don't feel that I am in harms way, rather I feel that the Lord may be revealing or verifying something to me that I've needed to know.

Thankyou. I really enjoyed your post.

Yeah, definitely write your dreams down, try to do it right after you wake up because that's when you remember them clearest, and the more detail, the easier they are to figure out! Plus writing them down focuses on them and helps you experience and remember them better in the future. It's pretty far out.

Peace.

Satan cannot read anyones mind, there is only one heart knower and that is God.

Show me where satan can influence a dream using scripture.

It was extremely rare for God to speak to anyone in a dream.

Please show me where the ideas of dreams coming to people from God is a normal occurance and not an exceptional occurance using scripture.

Jer 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

We will see in the next verse that God says to revear Him, and that your dreams are vanities

Ecc 5:7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Where does God say we get our dreams from?

Ecc 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

What else does God say causes dreams?

Isa 29:8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

Just like I tried to tell you earlier, dreams are caused by too much on the mind, bad food combining, eating too late at night, and the like. satan would love it if we all thought our dreams were from God, but that isn't what God is telling us!

FALSE PROPHETS Pretended to have dreams from God in

Jer_23:25-28; Jer_29:8;

The observance of ordinary dreams and the consulting of those who pretend skill in their interpretation are repeatedly forbidden.

Deu_13:1-3; Deu_18:9-14. -Jer_27:9;

and are condemned for pretending to have them from God in

Jer_23:32;

they consult magicians on their dreams and God is against it in

Gen_41:8; Dan_2:2-4;

God is the only interpreter of dreams in

Gen_40:8; Gen_41:16; Dan_2:27-30; Dan_7:16;

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
