Christians join Jews to express support for Israel

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News)– Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Pastor John Hagee and radio personality Glenn Beck all spoke to Israel’s Christian supporters during the sixth annual “Christians United for Israel” summit at the Convention Center in Washington, D.C..

“We need to defend the truth that Israel is the only reliable ally the U.S. has in the Middle East,” said Netanyahu via satellite. “When you support Israel, you don’t have to choose between your interests and your values; you get both … Our enemies think that we are you, and that you are us: and you know something? They are absolutely right!”

Both Hagee, founder and chairman of CUFI, and Beck addressed a crowd of more than 5,000 for the close of the summit.

“We gathered here with one message, said Hagee. “Israel today, Israel tomorrow, and Israel forever.”

Hagee also condemned President Obama’s suggestion that Israel revert to the 1967 borders to broker peace with its Arab neighbors.

“The Jewish people are not occupying the land of Israel, they own the land of Israel,” said Hagee. “America should never pressure Israel to give up land for peace, not for any reason, not to anyone, ever … If the US Administration forces Israel to divide Jerusalem, God will turn his back to the United States of America. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is watching, America.”

“Israel is the canary in the coal mine,” said Beck. “If Israel goes away, so does our Western way of life. We have to stand up for Israel. This is a test of our lives and of our civilization. We must do it not because it will bring in the Messiah, or give us more baptisms, but because we love our fellow man and because it defends our way of life.”

Beck also plans to return to Israel in August for his “Restoring Courage” rally.

“We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor,” said Beck, who then quoted from the book of Ruth: “To our Jewish friends, ‘intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God’” (Ruth 1:16).

If their God is his God, then Beck has just received salvation, or "Yeshua" in hebrew.
