'Sincerely believing something does not make it true, as anyone will testify who has ever picked a wrong bottle out of a medicine cabinet in the dark, no matter how sincere or how intense the faith is. Believing something doesn't make it true any more than failing to believe truth makes it false. Facts are facts, regardless of people's attitudes toward them. In religious matters, the basic question is always, "Is it true?"' (Little p. 146) (Genesis 37:33; Proverbs 14:12; Acts 26:9; 2 Peter 2:5; Luke 17:27).

Hm, not to go all Matrix-y on you (one of my favorite movies!), but sometimes the mind CAN make something real. A good example is the placebo. The mind is capable of some amazing things, really, I'd post more about it but I have to go make dinner in a second.

Plus Krsna (Krishna) IS personal to many Hindus...in Hindu belief, he descended from Heavens to teach men how to live holy and good lives after him, seeking balance. The goal of meditation and yoga in the Hindu context is to attain oneness with Krsna, realizing the consciousness and order of this supreme being.

One of my favorite quotes from the Bhagavad-gita is when Krsna says to Arjuna (who by the way notes that he speaks to Krsna as a friend) "Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you...Nor in the future shall any of us cease to be."

Just because I appreciate Hinduism doesn't make me a Hindu.

Besides, I believe that the Holy Spirit works through all religions, leading people to God.

Just to clarify......

Do you beleive that people can go to God without going through Jesus? That there are other ways to the Lord?

Hi Georgesbluesgirl

I really would like to know your response to this.

georgesbluegirl,

I can not just talk to you about this. I must tell you the truth. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but rather that then you go on believing the way you do.

It seems to me that you have been led into a lot of New Age. Mixing religions and speaking so highly of Hinduism, etc. It doesn't matter that you are not Hindu; you seem to believe the religion is okay. It is not. That is where people get off course by believing we can be tolerant of other religions. We can not be tolerant of any religion other than our Lord's death, burial and resurrection.

True Christianity is not a religion; it is a belief in our Savior and Lord of all, Jesus Christ. Can you not answer the question? Is Jesus the only way? He is the only way. If you can not say this then you need to find Jesus as Savior.

I don't intend to be mean. I just want you to know who Jesus truly is.

This is the mentality of the New World Religion: Find something that all religions can agree on. That is why true Christianity will not be tolerated in a short time. Yoga of any kind is not of God.

I have researched other post by georgesbluegirl and MANY have shared the message of the gospel to her and many still are...I believe what we ALL can do now is pray that the Lord will remove the blinders and the confusion and pray for her....

Georgesbluegirl please do not take what I said above as anything bad..I am saying this because I care about your soul..3480god1.gif

The whole purpose in yoga is to release the kundlini, the serpent that is coiled at the base of the spine. The exercises are designed to do this through physical stretching by itself, without the meditation. The meditation is used to speed up the prosess. The kundalini passes through seven chacras(sic) in the prosess of being released. When fully released there is a blissful release of energy and the practitoner is united with the "eternal." This practice started as a pagan religious practice and christians should have nothing to do with participating in pagan religious practices. I am amazed at the acceptance of many pagan practices in the churches. Where is the desire for separation from the world?

God gave us the ability to understand the connection between our bodies and our mind...

To those who don't find a conflict with Christianity, yoga and meditation allows the mind and body to achieve a level of coordination and unification not found in western culture. It is unfortunate that this was found out by believers in zen...

Christ is Lord, but that doesn't mean that there is more to this world in which He has not explained that is available to us...and that is coordination of mind and body through meditation....something that others have discovered....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
