There is healing for the sins that were committed against us through Jesus by the work of the Holy Spirit.

I can attest to that. But the road to recovery is slow and sometimes it is painful.

Sometimes we may need 'help' of a good Christian counselor, friend with wisdom, or an understanding pastor

I just wanted to add Wondering04 - that I found what helped me a lot was letting go of my effort to be close to God and just opening my heart to the the healing work of the Holy Spirit -

Doing that took the strain out of it . . .

And God's work is true . It does not lie.

He promises that

"He healeth the broken hearted and bindeth up their wounds." (Psalm 147:03 That promise is for you.

I think you have the right idea, and it is to continue reading His letter to you The Bible.

One problem we all seem to face is that we don't want to go thru, we want to already be there.

I hate flying, and before I even get on the plane, I want to be getting off the plane, but, I do realize that I must first start my journey, and go thru every little detail of it, nothing spared, before I may arrive.

As God is not on our timeframe, it is understandable that we would like to move faster, see results. When reading God's Word, I realize that every thing is done to further His Will, remember when Peter found out Christ would be killed? His first reaction was to prevent it. Well, Christ responded with "get thee behind me satan". We simply must learn to pray for what ever His Will is, lest we unwittingly move against Him.

Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Rom 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

One thing I keep in mind, is that if I am doing God's Work, and His Will, then there is nothing to ask of God, and if I am not, then what am I going to do; ask Him to alter His course? That would be foolish on my part. So, when I pray, it is merely speaking with Him, as a member of His family, calmly, knowing He already knows what is in my mind. Therefore, I have nothing to fear, and everything to revere. He is our Father, and He loves all His children, all He really wants from us is something that we actually can do, which is to talk with Him.

Rom 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Hi sachi, thanks for not minding my being honest. I would rather tell the truth and get the help that I really desire. To pretend to be what I am not I really do not want to do.

I do speak with my pastor who also is a counselor, so I do have a spiritual support system, but sometimes, by hearing others' ideas it provides a different way of looking at a situation. Thanks for putting me on your prayer list. Right now all the prayers I can get would be helpful.

sail2awe, you are right God's timeframe is so different from ours. I know that I need to remind myself to trust that God's timing is right, but sometimes I wish He would not drag His feet so much.
