I was watching a program on a new cable being installed between New York and London, to speed up trading...

The frightening thing is that the cable is costing hundreds of millions of dollars to lay.

The reason? To shave off 6 milliseconds from trading time. Why?

1 millisecond in trading over a year can equate to $100,000,000 in trades and profit for stockbrokers!

No wonder we are in the situation we are in. While the big banks, the new financial terrorists, carpet bomb us with debt, and the government bails them out, what chance does the average man in the street have against millisecond trading?

None. Cash, gold and silver are king at the moment.

Ya, America is going down the *Edit* If people started buying only what they can afford, we wouldn't be in this economic mess. People need to stop listening to pop singers and movie stars and start waking up to the real world. When you owe money to someone you, they own you and everything you have until you can pay it back. In most cases its the banks that own most of the people in America and over time the middle class will evaporate because with interest the banks would have gobbled up all the your money. Who ever owns the money makes the choices for your country. Regardless of the source, what this man says is true. Every single upper-tier management person within Goldman and Sachs, including its CEO should be rotting in jail, right now. The company is nothing more than a predatory monster preying upon any carrion it can find. Our administration knows of G & S's illegal dealings and does nothing. They green light it. Obama and his administration are more corrupt than any other administration we have ever seen.

While I agree about Goldman Sachs, this is not a recent development. The previous administration knew about them (and Lehman Bros.) and did nothing nor did the Clinton adminstration. But, as to the original article about the British leader and the Russians.....I think it's hogwash.
