how old do you think the universe is? is it billions of years old or just a few thousand like most christians believe. please give scriptural and/or scientific reasons why you believe the way you do.

From my understanding, most christians believe that the universe and the earth are billions of years old.

Only a portion of the fundamentalist christians are YECs and believe the earth to be only thousands of years old.

Hi joemiller,

Unfortunately, your god has not made it known to any how old is the universe. Hence, there is nothing to trust.

Well Of Course The LORD God Almighty Did

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31

And Backed It Up With The Freeze-Dried Like Instant Fossilization Of Hard And Soft Tissues Observed Within The Flood's Debris Field

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 2 Peter 3:5-6

Not Even To Mention The Evidence Of Terror Coming From Hearts Of Sin Seen Daily On The Streets

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

And the way of peace have they not known:

There is no fear of God before their eyes. Romans 3:10-18

Hearts Of Sin Inherited From Grandfather Adam

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22

And The Blood Price Jesus Payed

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19

For Our Redemption

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Romans 3:22-26

Easy to say when you're healthy, but what would happen if your body suddenly had an adverse reaction to something and you needed medical attention? Would science come to the rescue or would you just pray that God would heal you?

Firstly,

I place my trust in the Lord.

Secondly,

The Lord supplies our needs.

Thirdly,

I need to take medication not only for my Parkinson's but also for depression; with those meds I live a full life.

I thank God everyday that someone sent their child to school /university and by doing so now they can give me medical care through their knowledge gained.

So even if I rattle when you shake me because of all the medication I take, I still put my trust in The Lord

Oh quite on the contrary God has taught us that in the beginning all there was "I AM" (YHWH)... then He began to create...

All things were made with His approval as good (perfection)... God then placed His image in the Garden... Then choice The

Tree of Life, The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil... Image destroyed in wrong choice... and here we are, You and I UF...

How very sad that the understanding of time has eluded you! God says a day and one thousand years are the same to Him, yet

we in our self centered sin nature reckon only with our existence and our mind. However you are right- there is no bridge between

these concepts for one is right and one is wrong! This is where your understanding is in error; you demand what you are to be right

and that God must therefore fit into your mold of things to be, and if He does not then He is not -as you have many times declared!

Here begins the narrow path of faith requiring the sole proof of Word that God claims as His... I have asked God to knock loud

enough for you to hear, on you hearts door, His presence there! Respond in this way UF just open your hearts door and say I need

the hope You Have to offer... He will take it from there for 'He Says' I will come in and will sup with him and he with Me... There is no

other way to understand time!

Rv 3:20-21

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

All of which is fine, none of which addresses my point.

When polling, it is generally a bad idea to include your preferred answer in the question.

Unless you want to bias the response, that is.

But it's a common enough mistake, even by professional pollsters, especially on this sort of topic.

I'm not questioning the bible at all, i know it to be true and reliable. but we cant ignore the scientific evidence that we now have through astronomy, but rather interpret in light of god's word. it would not be a contradiction by any means if god waited billions of years till he made earth and everything in it.....actualy if our solar system was in any othe place in the universe or at any other time we would have a very obscured view of the stars and galaxies and not be able to study it in amazment

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
