Good grief!

Sometimes I wish we had a false prophecies forum to file these myths under. :noidea:

Just kidding, I think......

Although I don't believe everything I hear about 2012, I think we should be careful about what are being called false prophecies or myths.

This is a false prophecy. There is no doubt about it.

If it ends up being true, and the world ends on Dec. 21, 2012, then this makes Daniel a false prophet. According to Daniel's prophecy, the end would not come until 3 1/2 years after the abomination of desolation.

So we have a choice. Either we believe that Daniel was a true prophet of God, or we can believe a calendar prophecy from a people that no longer exist. Question: Why would these people set up a day that the world would end when none of them or any of their ancestors would even be around to see it? It seems that their own dooms day visited them much sooner than they could even imagine.

If I were a betting man and this was a wager, I'd be putting everything I have on Daniel and God's Word.

LoL..... Thunder, none of these prophecies are saying that the world is going to end on the date or the time period...... just change LoL

Every thing that is going on in the world can be traced back to either God or satan. God is in total control, but He is allowing satan to play out his part in His ultimate plan. Who do you see us being in conflict with, if not satan & the dark realm. How do you think the end time scenario is going to be brought out? satan has been refining his plan a long time & he will try to take over & destroy mankind.

We should not be unaware of where we are in time & what is happening.

They already have permission Shiloh.... We're just trying to make people understand that when we find ourselves under the buss that God told us about it before hand and we're not to panic about it..... He'll made it up to us in the end. Just like in the first century....

The 2012 stuff is about the end of the world. The Bible has nothing to say about the end of the world. The Bible teaches that there will an end to this world's current system, but not the end of the world. The 2012 is about entire world being cast into an upheaval due to cosmic forces and all that rot. The Bible teaches that this world's system will come to and end and Jesus will reign for 1,000 years and after that, he wil renovate the heavens and earth and sin will be forever eradicated. He doesn't destroy this world, he purges it from sin once and for all.

There is no end of the world. That is what makes this false prophecy and why this is just nonsense. I note that all of these "prophecies" stem from everywhere except one place, and that is the Bible. They try to make the Bible appear to line up with this, but you have people with no understanding of the purpose and plan of God and who are most likely not even Christians trying to make sense of a book they don't understand and for the most part, don't believe. It is an attempt to diminish the uniqueness of Scripture as if the Bible is on part with other mystical, prophetic documents, as if ultimately they all say the same thing.

If you believe in this 2012 stuff, you have depart from biblical truth to do so, as the Bible's outlook on the future of this planet is 180 degrees opposite of the 2012 prophecies.

Everyone that I've ever heard talking about this nonsense, even a documentary on tv, always say the world is going to end on that day. That's why I don't pay any attention to this foolishness.

The whole point behind the importance of the 2012 prophecies is that they allegedly all point to the end of world. In fact, they even twist the Bible to prove that this is end of the world. Every documentary I have seen on this points to 2012 as "the end of days." I have seen people wearing 2012 T-shirts with depictions of end of the world on them. That is the source of all the hype

The end of the world as we know it now is what I am talking about-----the current system, as you said. There have to be events take place that bring this about & that is what I am talking about. I believe the collapse of the world systems is in the works & has been for a long time & that satan is controlling the powers that are in control of it. Scripture gives us the outline & not necessarily the blow by blow of what all is involved.

Why are you saying that we have no understanding of the plan of God & are most likely not even Christians & don't understand or believe the Bible????? In what way are we trying to diminish the scriptures?

Sorry shiloh, that was uncalled for.

But the Mayan "prophecies" (if you can call them that) are understood by those who are studying them as the end of the world. The end of life on this planet, not the end of the world's system.

But I didn't say any of that. I said if you believe in the 2012 stuff you have to depart from biblical truth to do so. Where did I say you are not a Christian or that you don't understand the Bible???

I also did not say YOU are trying to diminish the Scriptures. I said that the prophecies come from everywhere except from the Bible and that they diminish the Bible by trying make it one of many mystical documents. Trying to tie the Bible into this 2012 is how the proponents (many of whom do not know the Bible or believe it) erode the uniqueness of Scripture.

I didn't say anything about you. I think perhaps you need to invest in some reading comprehension classes as you have a real problem in correctly framing my responses. It would do you some good to actually READ my responses and respond to what I write as opposed to your knee jerk reactions to something you incorrectly thought I said.

I was talking about all these people making the documentaries and making all these predictions. All of these "experts" who supposedly are studying not only the Mayan prophecies but other alleged prophecies from other mysical documents. That is who "they" referred to. If I was talking about you, I would have used the pronoun, "YOU." I would figure the average person would be able to discern the difference.

Ok shiloh, I see who you were speaking of. However, although I am not one of these "experts" out making documentaries, I do look at some of the ancient cultures & what they had to say about what they thought was going to come in the future & whether or not it might line up with end time prophecy of the Bible. Therefore, I did see your comments as referring to me & others that do the same. My apologies since that was not what you meant.

There is no reason for you to attack me personally with your comments about "the average person" & the "reading comprehension classes". I would appreciate it if you would stop doing so.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
