Hello All :P

I would like to hear the thoughts you have on what the Word Gospel means. Maybe this sounds like a basic question but i am interested also in the boundaries of the Word Gospel, what does it encompass? Is it just the message of salvation through the Messiah Jesus or does it include other things? Is the Gospel specific scripture or is it dealt with in all books of the bible?

Looking forward to some thoughts.

Blessings to all

Greetings Adstar,

You must have missed my gazillion posts regarding this very topic. The WHOLE Gospel message consists of the following:

1) The birth of Jesus Christ,

2) The life of Jesus Christ,

3) The death of Jesus Christ,

4) The resurrection of Jesus Christ, and

5) The 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.

Remove any one of these from your study and you will be lacking seriously in an area of the Gospel. You will NOT be able to give an adequate answer for the hope that is in you.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Hi Dad i think you may not understand why i have posted this question? its not because i do not have thoughts on what the gospel is its an attempt to see if everyone holds the same view on what the word Gospel Means and if everyone has the same thoughts on what is the extent of what the word Gospel covers?

It seems though that many people are preoccupied with other forum concerns at the moment.

Anyway just to clarify your thoughts when you say:

"2) The Life Of Jesus Christ"

Can i take it that you also include as part of that point the message. of Jesus Christ?

Greetings Adstar,

I hope you don't think I was trying to be offensive. I apologize if I said anything that might create division.

"2) The Life Of Jesus Christ"

Can i take it that you also include as part of that point the message. of Jesus Christ?

Everything between the time Jesus was born until the Cross, is an example for us in both word and deed. To live a life of peace with all men; to enjoy the benefits of the Kingdom of God; to love Him, even as He loved us; to understand the calling of God upon those of us who believe, that is to live a holy life, submitted to the Father through the enabling of the Holy Spirit. Perhaps the Apostolic Creed says it much better than I.

I suppose there is more that can be said, but I hope that covers most of it.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

We live under the NEW TESTAMENT through JESUS CHRIST.

The Gospel is to spread the GOOD NEWS of Salvation through our

LORD JESUS CHRIST.

He is our Savior, the one who saves us from the pit of Hell.

JOHN 14:6

JESUS said to him,

"I am the way , the truth , and the life .

No one comes to the FATHER except through ME."

Also, when JESUS spoke to NICODEMUS.

JOHN 3: 3

"Most assuredly , I say to you . unless one is born again ,

he cannot see the kingdom of GOD.

JOHN 3:5

JESUS answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you , unless one

is born of water and SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom

of GOD."

LOVE and PEACE to everyone,

Motivation

My main motivation and/or assumption in joining this board is this:1. The LORD God would "... have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth"(1 Timothy 2:4)-quite an honor and responsibility believers have been given as "ambassadors for Christ", entrusted with "the word of reconcilliation"(2 Cor. 5:20-21) to a predominantly lost and Christ-rejecting world, 2.The only remedy for man's lost condition before a Holy LORD God is the gospel of Christ as outlined in 1 Cor. 15:1-4, for only in this "good news" "...is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth :"(Romans 1:16), and 3. Any attempts to "pervert the gospel of Christ"(Galatians 1:7) will be met with stern rebuke, as the apostle Paul, "the apostle of the Gentiles"(Romans 11:13) did throughout his ministry, and we are told in no uncertain terms to "follow suit"(1 Cor. 4:16, 11:1; Philippians 3:17, 4:9; 1 Thes. 1:6; 2 Thes. 3:9; 1 Tim. 2:7).

Accordingly, any presentation of "another gospel"(2 Cor. 11:4, Galatians 1:6), other than the one Paul preached, the one that was committed to him(1 Cor. 9:17, 1 Tim. 1:11) by the risen, ascended, and glorified Lord Jesus Christ from heaven BY REVELATION,regardless of who is presenting it(Galatians 1:8,9), whether it be in the form of a "works-based"gospel(which is not "good news"), or even if it is "kingdom gospel", "the gospel of the kingdom"(commonly known today as a "prosperity gospel"), is not the "good news" that is to be preached in this "dispensation of the grace of God"(Eph. 3:2), and accordingly, is under a curse(Galatians 1:8,9). Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, calls this "my gospel"(Romans 2:16, 16:25; 2 Tim. 2:8). Scripture testifies that we are to be judged by this "my gospel"(Romans 2:16), we are established by this "my gospel"(Romans 16:25), and we are saved by this gospel(1 Cor. 15:1-4).

My further assertion is that the LORD GOD can use me more effectively to reach more people with a clear, simple message of "the gospel of the grace of God"(Acts 20:24) than a murky, cloudy presentation. An "MBA from heaven" is not a guarantee of clarity( nor of truth). In Colossians 4:4, Paul prays to God that his communication would be "manifest", which means clearly. The underlying word "manifest" carries with it the idea of "to make visible, to light up". Thus, Paul placed high priority on a clear, concise message, and understood that he was not only charged with unaltering the message, he was not to present a "garbled" gospel. He was charged with the responsibility of "shedding light" on the gospel of Christ, not to obscure it.

And how important was both the truth and clarity of presentation of this message to Paul? As mentioned previously, but deserves repeating, for this is "serious business",Paul understood the "gravity" of his responsibility, for only in this gospel is "

Dad Ernie :t2: No offense at all was taken :b:

Thanks for Your clarification i suppose looking back at my statement i did not make it as clear as i could have. It was late at night and i was tired.

"Can i take it that you also include as part of that point the message. of Jesus Christ?"

To boil it down the gospel is the message of salvation through belief in Jesus as Messiah.

The Question that now arises in my mind is can one accept the True Jesus without accepting in their heart/mind his teachings/instructions.

I know this is going to sound judgmental of me. But i feel a lot of people want Jesus as their savor but few want Him as their Lord. While others treat His Words as a smorgasbord, that they pass by picking up the stuff they like and ignoring the rest that conflicts with their own sense of right, their sense of logic.

If one does not care to know their savor (His Words) but accepts Jesus as their savor or reads His Words but then only accept what they agree with in His Word and ignoring what they find objectionable, are they in fact following another "jesus"? (i use the lower case j on purpose there)

I know i am going off topic a bit here but you have to strike when the iron is hot.

Hi John Whalen

Thanks for giving those thoughts. i liked the end part about Jesus preaching the Kingdom of God and Paul preaching Salvation through Jesus.

The thought that comes to my mind now is this. When Jesus pulled His followers aside on the road to Jerusalem, just before he was to be executed. And told them that He had to suffer and die and rise from the dead, wasn't He then preaching the Gospel to them even though they did not comprehend it?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
