The possibly False teachings of OSAS and Eternal Security

Off topic for just a bit, as I roll around some thoughts on forum chat in general my mind keep coming to the same place.

I believe there was a time when church and sunday school was enough for a believer to grow up into Christ and maturity. I dont believe that anymore, teachers used to teach how to study Gods word as well as their understanding of it. Today it seems like all we get from teachers is their understanding which is good if they know how to study.

It does seem apparent the teachers of today in general have failed, granted the internet is a diff animal and doesnt always bring out the best in people but you still get to look into the hearts of those that have been taught.

I get the thing where we have diff understandings but where I really see the difference is in the knowledge of study habits or knowing how to read and dig in with understanding, i.e; dividing the scriptures as well as dividing soul and spirit, that was taught as 101, not so much anymore it seems.

What teachers used to do was teach you how to study and trust the Holy Spirit to lead you, God forbid that happen today, most teachers and even leaders will tell you if you dont adhear to our voice you will fall prey to the enemy or some cult, everything that doesnt line up with what we believe is labeled cult, that is heritical and contradicts the word of God that says "you have no need of any man to teach you", 1st John 2:27, can any give some understanding on that verse, pray the Lord opens our minds to the deep things of God only revealed by the Holy Spirit.

There needs to be a good balance between practical, skilled study of God's Word and the leading of Holy Spirit. Intellectuality on its own won't cut it and there has been a plethora of false doctrine promoted by those who to rely only on the Holy Spirit. You need both. We are to love the Lord with our heart and our mind. The Bible was designed to be studied and searched out, but that does not mean we abandon the guidance and instruction of the Holy Spirit. When we renew our minds in the Word of God the Holy Spirit teaches us how to understand and apply those truths to our daily walk.

Unfortunately, too often people leave the middle of the road and they fall into a ditch on one side or the other. Either they become rigid, intellectual legalists or they end up going with whatever pops into their head and claim it was the Holy Spirit who gave them some errant piece of information.

It is possible and might I also say, vital to keep your feet on the ground and at the same tme enjoy the exhilerating ministry of the Holy Spirit as He guides you into all truth.

So true Shiloh, I just wanted to add one other thing about seperating the scripture's, that is the understanding of the division between Israel and the church. Israel are an earthly people and the church is a heavenly people. Israel is chosen people and we are a birthed people. The two in terms of salvation have nothing to do with each other. We go to the Fathers house and Israel will inherit the earth. Jesus came as their earthly king over a kingdom, and Jesus is our savior. Lot of confusion for believers today comes from not being able to divide what is writen to and about Israel and what is writen directly to a birthed child of God.

What do you believe about our Father, does he trust us or Christ in us for our salvation, Gal 2:20.

That is not entirely accurate. Jesus came as the Savior of Israel as well. In fact, Jesus did not come the first time to fulfill the office of Messiah. When He returns, He will fulfill that office.

While I agree that Israel and the Church are two different entities, I am not sure it's for the same reasons. I draw a distinction between the insitutional church and the community of authentic NT believers.

Jewish people can be saved just like a gentile can be saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. I was referring to Israel as a nation but as an individual a Jew can and are saved by the cross as we are

It absurb to think that the covenants of Israel has been discontinued, but the truth is that they are as much in force as when God made them.

Psalm 105

8He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac; 10And confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
