Hi,

I don't think Dan Rather was the person sole responsible for this letter. I believe he knew about it but not was not the master mind. I hope in time that we all of those who are responsible for this attempt to undermine our President.

I am sure they are willing to let Buck stop on Dan Rather so the an on going investigation would not continue to reveal the real crooks. I am sure the Dan Rather will be reward for taking the hit.

At the risk of getting a lot of negative responses I have to say this.

The news we see and hear every day is written by people with their own views and agendas. We have to assume that the articles are researched and true but sadly the major portion we see and hear about aren't researched thoroghly enough. In fact much news is tailored to inflame and inflate issues and happenings all in the name of the rating game. If they get low ratings they lose money its that simple.

As to Dan Rather, yes he has made a terrible mistake and I believe he has apologised for that mistake. As Christians we should accept that apology and go on with life instead of constantly bashing someone who made a terrible mistake in judgement. No one on this earth is perfect including Dan Rather. So I am asking all of instead of heaping coals upon him we instead, pray for him and that he learns from this error and starts reporting more consciously in the future.

he was informed AFTER the war began about intelligence failures concerning Saddam buying nuclear materials in Africa. This was not Bush's fault as the 911 Commission has reported. It was our intelligence community...a non-partisan governmental body.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter whether they were true or not...it didn't change the fact that Saddam was the leader of the largest terrorist sponsoring state in the world and we were not going to let him get away with it any longer.

Let's not forget another forgery Dan Rather was involved in. During the Soviet occupation of Afghanstan, Dan Rather had staged a battle for the evening news that was supposed to have happened between the resistance and the Soviet Army. When this "news item" was broadcast, both the Soviet goverment and a spokesman for the resistance came out and said that the battle never occured. Here again Dan Rather was caught setting up staged battles to boast ratings! The story died in obscurity because there was no other media outlets then that we have today. It is way past due for Dan Rather to leave. :sam: :prayer
