We know that Christians are to be against same sex marriage.

But what does a Christian do if they may have a sibling that is gay.

If the gay sibling who will not turn away from this is in trouble one day

what does the Christian sibling do for this other sibling?

If we help the gay sibling is that almost being borderline that you accept this idea? :noidea:

And how does the Christian sibling not help when it is family? :noidea:

What to do if I have a gay sibling?

Treat him/her as any other unrepentant sinner is to be treated according to biblical standards.

What do I do to help if they are in trouble? Same as I would for anyone who was an enemy of God, I would love them.

Loving your enemies by giving them what they need is being like God our Father who provides rain from heaven for all.

Giving/helping those who have needs is quite different than fellowshipping with them.

Show me where we're supposed to be against same sex marriage. I resent being put in a situation that invalidates the definition of marriage. Are we supposed to be against gays? Well Jesus said Love your enemies. Are we supposed to be against divorce, etc,etc,etc... I do believe when we are to hate sin, it is our own sin we are supposed to be looking at, not others. That's why the prostitute entered in ahead of the Pharisees even though her sins were greater.

I do agree with Gary here, love him. You do not have to condone nor condemn his choices nor do you need to permit that choice in your home. We are to love the sinners while praying for them to come to Him, we can have family meals, we can share laughter with them but we should always stand up for what He says is true and right. I have dealt with this myself so I know a bit about what your feeling and going through, its hard not to stand up and scream how wrong it is in His eyes, its hard not to want that person to change and come to know our Creator. Just accept that your sibling is lost and confused, lost in their sins.

shalom,

Mizz

Have you read the bible? It says dozens of times that it is an abomination for men to be with men. Do you honestly believe Jesus would be marching in a Gay pride parade today? Jeus CONSTANTLY called people out on their sins. We are NOT supposed to be against people, BUT WE ARE supposed to be against sin and any idea that goes against God. Yes, we are also supposed to be against divorce. Read Malachi 2:16. The reason the prostitute entered BEFORE the Pharisees was because she REPENTED and the Pharisees didn't. It had nothing to do with their sin, it had to do with HER repentance.

Jesus must be our example. How did he treat people? He never asked them if they planned to repent before he helped them. He helped lost and saved alike without any type of discrimination. Therefore we SHOULD help ANYONE, family or not, regardless of their sins or standing before God. YES, help your gay sibling, especially since you may be the only christian that shows him ANY form of love, and even might be the vessel God uses to bring him to salvation. Offer any help you can, HOWEVER your help must not be sinful or condone his actions and lifestyle.

Yes we are to be against homosexuality as an abomination and God's hatred for it's practice , presence, ...and how He will pour contempt upon them by their very direction and end

Rom 1:27-32

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them

NKJV

However I can love them and do for them to show them that I love them ... so ... that they may know that they are not their sin but can repent and turn from it to a life in Christ upon which time they will begin to cease their desire of sin and desire to be obedient to Christ!

I also am made able to tell them to their face that I hate the sin they practice and my hope is in God Who one day shall deliver me forever from its presence...

How ever if I were you by the indignation of the first portion of your post study carefully vs:32 above...

The prostitute entered into life because she realized her already destroyed life of sin and recognized Christ Jesus offer of His Own which was perfect to be placed over her own... The Pharisee's were already righteous by their own standards and was in need of no covering! Love, Steven

"Peace". Please let's not get ridiculous by inferring I think Jesus would be seen marching in a gay pride parade. We know he is against all pride. Yes I have read the bible. I am aware it is an abomination for men to lay with men. But I am also aware that God gave men over to the lusts of their flesh because they did not esteem God as God and therefore I have no right to judge others.

Romans 1:26-27

King James Version (KJV)

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Romans 2

1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Rom 1:27-32

Actually the scripture says God gave men over to become abominations as a punishment for having a corrupt image of god.

See the bold type? As a punishment for not wanting to retain God in their knowledge God gave them reprobate minds. Moreover you left out the conclusion of all of this scripture, which is why you are misapplying and misinterpreting the rest.

Romans 2

1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

However I can love them and do for them to show them that I love them ... so ... that they may know that they are not their sin but can repent and turn from it to a life in Christ upon which time they will begin to cease their desire of sin and desire to be obedient to Christ!

Yes that is true as long as you recognize what the cause of the sin is as the scriptures you provided show. Changing the glory of God into a corrupt image and not wanting to retain God in their knowledge.

I also am made able to tell them to their face that I hate the sin they practice and my hope is in God Who one day shall deliver me forever from its presence...

Anyone can say that about someone elses sin, but remove the plank from your own eye before trying to remove the speck from your brothers eye.

How ever if I were you by the indignation of the first portion of your post study carefully vs:32 above...

Your commentary is only partially right. Let's not add what's not there. For instance how would she recognize Christ's offer of his own, when no one but himself knew he was going to sacrifice himself? She believed he was the Christ and she sought forgiveness that is enough to be certain of. She certainly wasn't expressing her hatred of everyone elses sin but her own.

Yes, God loves us but hates our sins, yet if we die in our sins we will be apart from him. Accepting our siblings is one thing, accepting their sins is completely different. Love and help each one when needed so as to better share our Lord with them. Praying for this situation Waiting2BwithHim.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
