There are many discussions here on what has already come about in the book of Revelation, so I would like us to do a study on what has yet to be fulfilled. Obviously the white throne judgment has not been accomplished.

I have also 'heard' that some prophecy might represent two separate happenings. If so which ones and on what do you base this as I see no Biblical reference for it.

Rev. 1:19 is the interpretative key.

Rev. 1 is past (to John), Rev. 2-3 is present (to John), while Rev. 4-22 is yet future (literal, futurist view vs preterism). Rev. 6-19 is the Tribulation period after the rapture (Christ comes FOR the church), before the visible Second Coming/Millennium (Christ comes WITH the Church).

show me how revalation 12 with the man child has yet to come?

not all of these prophecies are in the future but they could be visions of things past to show something that is to come or of christ nature.

Actually we can say chapter one is what was, what is, and what will be. It isn't so much an outline of the book but the reality of the concurrent nature of prophecy in the book.

There are over 800 references to the OT in Revelation. In some way most have been fulfilled and all will be fulfilled.

I have viewed revalation a good many ways over the years. But the one thing that always gets me is this statement;

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

And this one;

Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.

And then tie it into this one;

After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."

Three phrases - must soon take place, are to take place after this, and must take place after this.

I believe it is a continual unfolding that started with the writing of the book itself. I believe that since the time of the emergence of the last church we see described things have been unfolding ever since. When did it emerge? Who knows for sure, I have never looked real hard.

So as far as where exactly, I think somewhere mid chapter 13. I think the beast who rises from the "earth" has done so and now we will begin to see what takes place from this.

My thoughts anyways.

I like your observations Nathan.

As for the man child in Rev. 12, I think what we are seeing there is a reiteration of the situation. A review so to speak, in order to get to other points.

I also see chapter one as a panoramic view.

Much of the NT quotes the OT.

Good answers! Keep them coming!

not all of these prophecies are in the future but they could be visions of things past to show something that is to come or of christ nature.

Like other prophetic passages, two events may be highlighted with an indeterminate interval in between. Rev. 12 does have a historical reference to Israel bringing forth the Messiah and then the end time events. Rev. 6-19 is yet future, but that does not mean one sentence or verse might not allude to a historical event. Look at the larger context and then consider any given verse on its own merits. Likewise, Rev. talks about Satan's future activity, but one verse may refer back to his original fall or work earlier in history. This does not negate the fact that almost every other passage is yet future. Likewise, in historical narrative, one verse may have prophetic application in the future (Messianic proof text), but most of the context was present to the writer or had historical fulfillment (or even dual fulfillment at times).

I personally believe NONE of the prophesy of Revelation has happened yet. Chapters 1-3 are historical, representing not only the literal churches, but also are examples of all,the different churches in history. Technically, chapter 6 is where the first actual prophesy begins, however I believe 4:1 could be a reference to the rapture. So NO prophesies have occurred yet. I believe we are currently living in verse 3:22, if you were to count the whole book as a timeline.

I believe most of Revelation except for Ch 20 has been fulfilled, and the War of Gog and Magog is ongoing now (hence the upsurge in evil and weirdness).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
