Fallen Angels/Demons On Earth! What?

Let's look at 2Peter 2:4

I will quote from 2 different bible versions:

King James Version:

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment

New International Version:

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment

Fallen angels as far as I have been taught, are evil spirits/demons. They cannot function without being in a body of some kind here on earth.

Now, according to 2Peter:4, God sent these angels who sinned to hell and are being held for judgment. Now then, WHAT ON EARTH ARE THEY DOING HERE deceiving and oppressing us and some of us are being demonized or even possessed by demons? Do they have free will to come and go from hell to earth? They must! But what about what this verse says: "sent to HELL to WAIT for judgment"?

I know first hand the power demons have over one's mind. My mind was totally gone that even medication was no longer working. I had a major experience of deliverance in 1998 where over 80 demons were cast from my body. Praise God! I got a sound mind back. Now to maintain, that is a different story! They can also afflict the body as in demon of cancer! etc.

Thank you Jesus for the Cross! :il:

Hi Carly,

It seems that some fallen angels, or "sons of God," possessed human men who then cohabited with "the daughters of men." Genesis 6:1-4)

For remember, angels are sexless (Matthew 22:30)

This gives us the clue as to why some fallen angels are presently bound in prison and others are not.

It appears that what these angels did was a particularly heinous deed in God's eyes, so He "delivered them into chains of darkness."

warm regards

Bud:

I believe what you say, but in 2Peter 2:4, God does not say He sent SOME angels to hell. That means to me He sent all the angels that sinned to hell. But it is obvious they don't stay there. I have read the book "A Divine Revelation of Hell" by Mary K. Baxter very cautiously with prayer first. I truly believe it! There are people there. And the demons go where and to whom they are told to on the earth by their master satan!

Therefore I have yet to understand 2Peter 2:4

(1 Cor 6:3 KJV) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

(Heb 13:2 KJV) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Certainly throughout the bible there are many times that angels appeared to have a physical body.

In other places devils appear to be disembodied spirits, or evil spirits, that take possession of someone else's body (hence the term devil possession or possessed of an evil spirit).

Some in the evil realm might have bodies, some might not, but they are all in darkness. We are the children of the light.

(Jude 1:6 KJV) And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

(Acts 26:18 KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

(1 Cor 4:5 KJV) Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

(Eph 6:12 KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

(Rev 12:7 KJV) And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

(Rev 12:8 KJV) And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

(Rev 12:9 KJV) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

(Rev 16:14 KJV) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

(Gen 1:2 KJV) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

(Isa 60:2 KJV) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

(Micah 7:8 KJV) Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

(Isa 14:15 KJV) Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

(Isa 14:16 KJV) They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

(Mat 10:28 KJV) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

(Mat 6:22 KJV) The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

(Mat 6:23 KJV) But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

(2 Cor 4:6 KJV) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

(2 Cor 6:14 KJV) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

(2 Cor 6:15 KJV) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

(1 John 1:5 KJV) This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

(1 John 1:6 KJV) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

(1 John 1:7 KJV) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

There are two theories about demons/fallen angels.

The fallen angels are created beings the left off their "first estate" and some believe that they became the demons.

Then there are the souls of the "offspring" of the fallen angels which were neither entirely man nor angel and thus something in between that became the demons afte the flood. Souls without anyplace to go.

I don't see any definitive answer but I lean toward the second.

DEMONS - WHAT THEY ARE AND ARE NOT

DEMONS - WHAT ARE THEY? Demons are NOT human. They are invisible evil spirits with various sizes and shapes.

WHERE DID THEY COME FROM?

There are no Scriptures to back anyone's personal opinions or theories except Colossians 1:16. God did in fact create everything (including Lucifer). Colossians 1:16 "For it was in Him that ALL things were created, in heaven and on earth, things SEEN and things UNSEEN, whether THRONES, DOMINIONS, RULERS, or AUTHORITIES; ALL things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him."

We do know that the demons have rankings (like the military). Again Colossians 1:16 "...things seen and things unseen, whether

THRONES - DOMINIONS - RULERS - AUTHORITIES

King James version calls them "VISIBLE and INVISIBLE, whether

THRONES - DOMINIONS - PRINCIPALITIES - POWERS

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against PRINCIPALITIES, against POWERS, against the RULERS of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." KJV

Ephesians 6:12 "For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the DESPOTISMS, against the POWERS, against [the master spirits who are] the world RULERS of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere." AMP V

The above scriptures destroy any notion that there are NO demons.

DEMONS - WHAT THEY ARE NOT -- If you think the demons are the "fallen angels", this can only be a personal opinion. There are some Scriptures that are not clear (like in the Book of Revelations), so everyone has their own opinion. As far as "fallen angels" go, check this out. The two Scriptures are quite clear.

II Peter 2:4 "For God did not [even] spare ANGELS that sinned, but CAST THEM INTO HELL, delivering them to be KEPT THERE in pits of gloom TILL THE JUDGMENT and their doom."

Jude, verse 6 "And ANGELS who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place--THESE He has reserved IN CUSTODY IN ETERNAL CHAINS (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness UNTIL THE JUDGMENT and doom of the great day."

These two Scriptures do not say that SOME of the "fallen angels" are locked up.

DEMONS - WHAT THEY DO -- Their job is to CONTROL you, to DEFILE you, to HARASS you, to TORMENT you, and to DRIVE you to DO, SAY, THINK, and FEEL things you wish you could eliminate from your life.

WHAT DEMONS ARE FROM THE MOUTH OF JESUS

Mark 7:21 - 23

21) For from WITHIN, [that is] out of the hearts of men, come base and wicked thoughts, sexual immorality, stealing, murder, adultery,

22) Coveting (a greedy desire to have more wealth), dangerous and destructive wickedness, deceit; unrestrained (indecent) conduct; and evil eye (envy), slander (evil speaking, malicious misrepresentation, abusiveness), pride (the sin of an uplifted heart against God and man), foolishness (folly, lack of sense, recklessness, thoughtlessness).

23) All these evil [purposes and desires] come from WITHIN, and they make the man unclean and render him unhallowed.

I have read the book "A Divine Revelation of Hell" by Mary K. Baxter very cautiously with prayer first. I truly believe it!

The following is a quote from that book...

And then I felt my flesh and skin begin to fall off my bones! I screamed and screamed in abject horror. 'O Jesus,' I called out, 'where are you?'. I cried out, 'Oh, no! I am in hell forever! Oh, no!'. I began to feel the worms inside me. I tried to pull them off me, but more came to fill the place. I screamed, 'Where are you Jesus?'. Was I really in hell? Had I committed some great sin against God and lost my salvation? Did I sin against the Holy Ghost? I cried and repented a thousand times for my sins. Yes, I thought of many things I could have done to lead others to Christ. Each time the jaws ( of hell ) opened they dumped another load of lost humanity into hell, I wondered if anyone I knew was among them. Would they bring my husband here?" ( ibid, pp.176-183 )

"For days I relived the horrors of hell and its torment. At night I would wake up screaming and saying there were worms crawling in me. I was afraid of hell. I had to have the lights left on when I slept. I needed the Bible with me at times, and I read it constantly. My soul was in severe shock. Jesus would say, 'Peace, be still,' and peace would flood my soul. But a few minutes later I would wake up screaming, hysterical with fear. I was so afraid of having to go back to hell that I was fearful to even have Jesus near me sometimes." ( ibid, pp. 184-185 ).

This is not the result I would expect from a divine encounter with Jesus..."I was fearful to even have Jesus near me sometimes".

How do we view such books? Are they scripture? NO

Might these be deceptions? YES

Should we measure them by the scriptures? YES

MY OPINION:

Hell is real. I have a hard time believing that Satan and his angels are given free reign when the bible says that they are chained. I have a hard time believing that Jesus would "disappear" leaving the author in hell twice believing that she was now lost forever.

This relevation is for sale to those that have the cash to purchase it, which always leaves the poor out, and always makes me wonder...

A/Traveler,

Some of the things M. Baxter writes don't line up. I agree that Satan and the demons don't have free reign but I do not believe Satan is mentioned that he is bound. I also believe he can do a lot more than we give him credit for. In war it is important to know the enemy and his capabilities along with your own sides capabilities. The angels that left their first estate are bound unto judgement, but does that mean that all the rebelling angels are bound. I can see how this group does not have to include all the fallen angels.

(Rev 9:14 KJV) Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

(Rev 9:15 KJV) And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

I agree with you, there simply is not enough scripture to state precisely how things really are. I know (without a new revelation book) that hell is real, and I want to avoid it, and I want others to avoid it.

Certainly evil spiritual activity still occurs, so not everyone in the darkness is as bound as I would like. I think at last report scripturally, Satan was still roaming to and fro, so he might be bound to the earth, but he seams to have a long chain on his collar.

Oh wait, turns out he's in Australia, on a walk about...

(1 Pet 5:8 KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Sorry Aussie brethren, I just couldn't resist. :o

Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
