1- The words petros and petra were synonyms in first century Greek.

2- Also, Jesus didn't speak Greek but Aramaic and he would've used the word Kepha, which means huge rock.

When Christ took the bread and the wine, He was declaring Himself to His disciples as the Passover. For Passover was indeed the foreshadowing of Him.

Are you saying that the Passover of Israel and the communion of Jesus is the same thing?

The Passover of Israel is a foreshadowing of deliverance from sin. That is where the blood covering comes in.

At the last seder, Jesus took the matzah and the wine and said that they symbolized His body and blood. The communion celebrated today comes directly out of the seder that has been celebrated by Jews for millennia. Messiah Himself is our Passover, the matzah, and wine are symbolic of the body and blood of THE Passover Lamb who was sacrificed for us.

Messianic seder as you mention, must be a new invention, because throughout the history of the Church, the belief has been that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ.

No, the belief has been throught the CATHOLIC church that the bread and wine became the body and blood of Jesus. Most denominations reject transubstantiation.

That is not in the Bible, and sound hermeneutics do not allow for the wine and bread to physcially become the body and blood of Jesus.

Messianic seders put communion back in its proper context.

I am able to happily agree with your statement from this perpective, "He was declaring Himself to His disciples as the Passover", revealing that he was the covering that would deliver the believer out of the bondage of sin and that he was that power that would take away the sting of death.
